Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
He slipped into bed next to her and sighed in contentment as she rolled into his side. He let his arm instinctively wrap around her to draw her in close, relishing their bodies touching. He felt like the luckiest guy alive every time he got to hold her like this. She asked if he was sure the Council would catch the gunmen and for a minute he lifted a brow before he remembered that he'd never actually told her what his powers were. So she had no idea what he was doing back in the club besides protecting her with his wings. He chuckled before nodding. "Oh yeah, they got them, all right, the ones that lived, anyway." He hated to think that she would be paranoid, looking over her shoulder and thinking any of them were still out there. No, his clones made sure there was no one to leave the club besides innocents. He sighed before he turned to her. "I wasn't just leading you to safety in the club. I can make clones of myself. I rounded up all the people with weapons and killed the ones that wouldn't go quietly. Don't worry. There's no one left out in the streets from that club." His eyes darkened with a promise. He would never allow anyone to go free after endangering her like that. He wanted Amelia to be able to go out in the world and not think about her safety. He felt it his duty to provide a world for her and Tenley that didn't include their lives being in danger 24/7. He wouldn't allow that. He was finally rewarded with her eyes closing and her body relaxing against him. He wondered for a moment if she even heard him tell her about his powers but decided it didn't matter. They could talk about that anytime. With another sigh, he kissed her forehead one last time before turning his head and falling asleep. He was in an all too real and good dream about Amelia when he was suddenly being elbowed awake. "Wha, what? I'm up, I'm up." He mumbled incoherently as he sat up in bed, blinking around the room and glancing at Amelia in question. "I was sleeping good." He scolded teasingly before he heard the sounds in question. His head snapped around and his eyes widened as he took in Tenley crawling across the floor toward them. He barely registered what Amelia said as his mouth gaped open. But then he all but beamed as he crawled out of bed and crouched down on the floor, holding out his arms to her. "Hey, sweetheart. How did you get out of your crib, huh? You climbing, now, too?" |
