Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
I tried sneaking out a few times the first few nights I agreed to stay with Kohl. I needed to hunt, to get out my frustrations, my need for familiarity. When I came back, I instantly felt bad because I could tell he's been waiting up for me, worrying. And so I quit sneaking out. I started stalking my prey during the day. It was hard but when have I ever turned down a challenge? After a while, I found ways to find shadows in the daylight, to hide myself from the hunted. If it kept Kohl sane then fine, I could find a way to live with this new method. As I come up behind him, I let my hands slide down his chest and he leans back in his chair, obviously enjoying the caress. I lean down, my lips brushing his neck and he makes a sound in his throat, a sound I've come to enjoy very much. At my question, he tells me that he'll forget what he's doing if I keep doing it. I smirk, a playful gleam in my eyes as I let my hands go a little lower, running them down his flat stomach now. "Hm? Doing what?" I say innocently. He chuckles before moving a bunch of wires and plastic toward me. I pause in my fondling for the moment to look at the stuff, my brow rising as I turn back to him with obvious confusion in my gaze. I look between the stuff and the screwdriver he's now twirling effortlessly in his fingers. My lips tug into a scowl. I bet he could do that with a knife if he really wanted to. He's really very handy. He starts speaking, something about taking apart a mobile phone, probably one of the ten he owns, and pretty much giving it a big upgrade. He admits that what he's looking for isn't entirely legal and my lips tug wider into a grin now, eyes twinkling slyly. He frowns a little and I pause, wondering at the look of guilt in his eyes before he tells me that he has a friend in Paris, naming the man I heard him talking to and the woman he was complimenting. I'm happy to know she's at least off the market. He mentions in the end that they want to meet me, something I already know from eavesdropping but he turns in his chair to face me, telling me he's making something for the phone to help me hunt. I tilt my head, wondering how it can do that. Unless it's going to throw knives for me or become a grenade for a backup escape, I don't see how. He then gives me a grin and I can't let the doubt cloud my mind any longer, not when he looks this excited about something. He watches me for a moment as if to gauge my reaction before he turns back to the bunch of wires and plastic and stuff. I wait patiently until he looks up at me again, asking if I want to go to Paris. I smirk a little, shrugging lightly as he says it's couple-like and he thinks we should go to Vermont first. I wrinkle my nose. "It's overrated. Besides, those old timey places attract vampires like moths to the flame. They love being somewhere they don't have to fight to fit in." He grins and I smirk again. Then he admits that Paris is probably better and that he can wait for the visit if I don't want to. I blink, surprised that he would put this on hold for my benefit. I find myself smiling a little as I move around the chair now, plopping gracefully down in his lap as I wrap my arms around his neck. "Paris sounds lovely. I've never been there for anything other than work so I didn't get to really enjoy msyelf before. As for the long flight there? I can always sleep if you get too boring for my taste." I grin a little now, chuckling as I turn to look back at the stuff he calls a phone. Or what used to be a phone. I grab a few wirse, holding them up and watching them bunch like string that will never come unraveled. My brows knit together in puzzlement as I look back at him. "I wish your skills were a little more...how do I say this? Something I could understand." I smirk a little. |
