Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

In my darkest hour

Wake up to your dreams
And watch them come true

Katrin's place at her side was quickly filled by Frost. Nadya all but crumpled in his embrace, turning her head to stifle those sobs. Today was supposed to be filled with joy at finding out the gender of their unborn child. Now it was filled with sorrow at the loss of the pregnancy. Her sobs softened as the energy for it all slowly drained from her. Frost's reassurance that it wasn't her fault, though letting her know he didn't blame her, did little to quell her sorrow in the moment. It was the sound of her daughter's soft voice that brought Nadya's head to turn. "Izzy...Micah...you should be in bed." She fought those tears back seeing those looks on their faces. She was far too drained to tend to them and was relieved when Frost said he would...only for Katrin to pluck them up and lead them off.

Nadya rested once more against Frost, her eyes heavy from crying now. She felt...hollow. She didn't even move from Frost's embrace at the sounds of the paramedics in the doorway. Any protest of Frost stepping away faded as the female knelt beside her and began questioning about the pain and bleeding. Thankfully the pain had dulled and the bleeding had seemed to stop. "Can you walk?" Nadya nodded mutely at the question before the paramedic wrapped her in a heat blanket and helped her to stand. She was led out into the hallway where a propped up stretcher waited. Once settled, the paramedics carried the stretcher out into the ambulance where the sirens began their wailing once more towards the hospital.

Nadya was silent the entire ride as the paramedics worked, putting an iv into her arm and connecting cords to her chest and finger that monitored her heart and oxygen levels. There was a time where she was terrified of the hospital but after having children it had slowly subsided. Instead, her attention turned to Frost, knowing full well how suspicious he was of hospitals. It was questionable on how he would handle all of this.

Thankfully the hospital wasn't far and soon enough the paramedics were wheeling her through that brightly lit building into the ER wing. The triage group took over from the paramedics, taking her chart they had started and wheeling her towards a room while one of the nurses stopped in front of Frost, halting his progress from following. "Are you her family?" She attempted to hand over a clipboard and motion to the waiting area. "We need these forms filled out to the best of your knowledge. The doctor will see to her immediately." The fact that separating them may not be an option given their species hardly occurred to the nurse in that moment. She simply saw a man in the middle of a woman's emergency.
