Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
This was every conspiracy theorist dream come true. I mean...they would go absolutely ape shit over this. Anastasia, the Anastasia was still alive. Well, sort of. I mean, she was a Dark Hunter. No one really had a theory that she roamed the earth alive, slaying evil supernatural creatures. If anything, those that assumed she was alive, thought she was in her older age or already buried in the ground. It would surely shock anyone to the core to know that Anastasia didn't die that night. Surely President Putin would have sent agents to roam across the world to kill Anastasia and anyone in her blood line. Not that Russia would fall back into a monarchy with Anastasia on the throne, or a constitutional monarchy, and yet that man would go to great lengths to destroy any potential problem. Here I am standing in the presence of royalty. Well, damn. Here she was waltzing about and no one knew. This is absolutely...surreal. Was surreal the correct description for this? Probably not. Although what would anyone describe this knowledge? I know Alexander the Great is a live and the Grand Duchess Anastasia is alive...as Dark Hunters...ridding the world of evil doers. Fuck that sounds like a bad ass book, turned into a movie or TV show.
How the fuck would Alexander the Great know to rescue Anastasia? Pretty sure the author of this unbelievable book would have a pretty tough time have a very good explanation about this. It's not like they were related, or their times of life were close to one another for the two to overlap. Macedonia and Russia are nowhere close to one another. Although I doubt Alexander would be pretty forthcoming providing me that tale. Maybe I could get him drunk or ask a warlock to concoct a potion that can make him willingly speak. That shall be another day's problem. There still was the matter of understanding what she thought about the folks that pretended to portray her. And the poor Dowager Empress Marie...to have to put up with the lies. And Anastasia found the act amusing? I would have found it insulting, revealing my secret if I knew I wouldn't be hunted down again. I guess she couldn't be honest, a shame really, to have to hide all this time. But how could this woman go through it all? I mean...what made her capable of doing such a thing? I guess I wouldn't get a clear answer. With a quiet nod I lift my shoulders in a helpless shrug.
"I hope you can see them, but would it be wrong to say not any time soon? I mean...I'm not going to wish you a speedy death."
Do I want her to see her parents? Of course I do. Hell, I'd like to see my own parents. And yet, I'm not going to wish for my death to be soon and hers. It just wouldn't be right. And wouldn't you know she did manage to see her grandmother, but to be told that she reminded her of someone...well damn...if that doesn't just crush your heart. What a damn shame. Shaking my head dejectedly I can't help but rub the back of my neck, to at least bring some sort of comfort to myself. As the former Duchess starts to move away from the painting I obediently follow her quietly murmuring gently.
"Well, that's a shame she never really got to be happy about you still being alive."
As we walked through the museum I noticed we weren't really heading anywhere else to look at the other exhibits. I guess she just wanted to bring me here to reveal her huge secret. She didn't have to tell me, but it's nice to know something about her. Although I think a bit too big to tell me. I mean, we don't really know each other. Maybe that was the point? As we headed towards the doors I sighed softly. I guess I should try to open up with her a bit. I mean, I don't really have an earth shattering secret to provide her. Wait a minute. I know something she might not know...and she might find this humorous. If not, at least I will. A wicked grin appeared on my face as I pulled some of my blonde hair out of my eyes as we exited the building.
"So... your majesty, have you ever watched documentaries about you. Any movies? Oh, what about the cartoon one, with the little white bat! If you take me back to my house, I'll show you!"
