Sacrosanct contains four distinct neighborhoods, each with their own specific kind of houses and residents. Explore our districts, view lists of our citizens and enjoy our block parties!
Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
death incarnate & night triumphant
The man had prowled Sacrosanct for years, learning the ins and outs of the city. It was amazing what you could learn from simple gossip from the locals. How rarely he needed to send someone out to investigate! At least that was one thing that remained over the centuries Andras had survived, men and women alike, loved to gossip. It was fairly easy to pick the truths out versus the lies if you knew what to look for. Though, he wasn't a terribly difficult person to find when he was in the city, it was rare for someone to see him out. Especially because of the rumors that circulated the Fae Lord. How his cruelty reigned supreme, how he tortured his enemies without soaring a thought. Of course, Andras has worked hard to imbed those rumors though, they were hardly true, there was still some lingering truth within them. A way for him to keep his home and people safe.
So, as that voice announces her presence behind him, Andras instantly flips that switch, that swaggering arrogance entering his body as he slides his hands casually into his pockets. The smallest of simpers tugs at the corner of his lip as a hint of cruelty alights within that dark gaze. As he approaches her, the man pauses a short distance away as he confirms that she was, in fact, the former monarch of the city. She doesn't hesitate to meet his wicked gaze, her stance one of a prideful young woman. Hmm... interesting. As she mentions those that are still loyal to her, he glances at her, his gaze hardly faltering, "Then please go ahead, your majesty," he says casually, his shoulders lifting slightly with a shrug.
Andras continued to wrack his brain for Samantha's reasoning on seeking him out, he hardly had anything he could offer her and there was nothing he wanted from her. It was clear she didn't seem to be reinstating herself as queen either. An utter mystery and though he could dive into her mind to figure out exactly what she wanted... he suspected she would be telling him even if he walked away. There is a sudden shift in the wind as it blows against him, Andras's nostrils flaring slightly to take in the scent of the former queen. There was something... familiar about it, something he hadn't scented in a long time, at least, not in a faerie. It wasn't his business and truly, he had no desire to make it his either. Samantha Cassidy was someone he did not know.
It's the question she ends with that has him glancing at her nonchalantly, a hand sliding from his pocket to pick an invisible speck of dust from his suit as he stands there silently for a moment. Flicking away said invisible dust, he finally looks at her, the smile all but vanished from his face, his features hardened into that of the predator he is. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to decline," his deep tenors roll across his tongue as he begins walking towards her again, stopping a mere foot away, "Darling, don't expect to get what you want when you begin a conversation with a threat," he says, his voice darkening slightly, "And weather or not you were threatening me, I'm not entirely sure but what I do know is that I take the protection of my home and my people very seriously," he leans forward slightly, his dark hazel eyes peering down at the former queen. "Unless you can give me a very good reason to trust you, I believe this conversation is over," he ends before leaning back, his hands sliding back into his pockets as that dark simper returns to his lips.
