Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Amaya stood fairly calmly in front of him, the only hint of her twisting stomach was her constant fiddling with her lip ring. Never had she come across a Dark Hunter, though she had heard whispers of rumors of them on the wind. Almost literally. The sense she got from this man was very akin to that of a vampire. With the sun shining through her window, she knew he could not be that. But there was something seriously off putting about this man, and it was starting to make her jumpy. His words brought her out of her growing panic and she actually laughed, looking down at her clothing and relaxing somewhat. "Naw, now is a good time. Hold on." His business stated, she relaxed even more and motioned him into the apartment. Swiftly and efficiently she moved her 'work' bag and a box of snacks from the kitchen table that was just passed the kitchen, to the right of the door. As he continued to speak she smoothly moved into one of the bedrooms, undeniably graceful even in her shabby clothing. There was the sound of a couple drawers opening and closing. In minutes she stepped back out, wearing typical tight feminine jeans, her bowler hat to cover her mess of hair, and was working her way up to close a neat white button-up men's shirt. She moved around the kitchen, putting a pot of water on her stove and chuckled at his comment, already closing the door behind him. "Trust me, you would be the first man they would have seen at my door. It's good to give them more to wonder about." She thought briefly if they would get the weird feeling coming off Kohl as well, or if that was just her. Patiently she listened to what he had to say with a nod of her head. "Of course! Feel free to use the sink or whatever." Her hand waved toward the kitchen sink and paper towels right next to it. All that was in the sink was her bowl from breakfast. "Can I grab you anything? Tea, water, wine?" She opened her fridge to see if she had anything else she could offer this potential client. Looking in, it looked like she drank her carbs. "Beer?" She offered. Her style of interaction was clearly polite and casual, but also professional, at least professional in a sense that she clearly knew how to get things done. Not in the sense that she had just stepped out of her bedroom with her shirt only half closed and welcomed her possible boss into her home without a second thought. Taking the steaming water off the stove, she poured herself a cup of tea and pulled a pad of paper and pen from a nearby clutter drawer. Settling the paper on the counter she looked at Kohl. "So, having issues with your current team. What kinds of issues? What would you want me to do?" Once again she looked over him and her face twisted into a little bit of a natural grin. "How long would you want me to work for you? Would there be a dress code?" Her face twisted a little more, taking on an equally teasing look. "Are real plants with real dirt allowed?" She was, after all a witch, with an abundance of natural plants hanging from her ceiling in the corners and growing in pots on her windowsills. Most of them interesting flowers, a couple colorful succulents, and a mini herb garden in her window proving that she never needed to buy herbal seasonings. |
