Thursday hadn't come fast enough! Henry had been counting down the days, hours, and minutes until this moment. Time seemed to tick by slower than ever and it was driving Henry mad. He had been planning this date since he had mentioned taking Sterling on a real date. Someone was looking down at him and laughing in his face. They were slowing down the clock and making him wait what seemed like an eternity.
When Thursday did come, Henry waited for Sterling to leave the apartment before finally waking up for the day. He hadn't gotten any sleep, but he figured he would be alright. He spent the morning cleaning the apartment, making it look like it came out of a catalog. Hell, he could eat off this floor. While the clean apartment had nothing to do with the date, he did want the place to look nice when Sterling got home. He hoped it would enhance the feelings that Sterling felt after their date. It couldn't hurt, could it?
Once the apartment was clean, Henry packed a beautiful picnic lunch. It wasn't anything too dazzling, but it was the best he could cook with his limited skills. Packing the food in a wicker basket, Henry grabbed a red checkered blanket and left the apartment. He figured Sterling wouldn't have eaten and he would be starving by the time he left work. After all, if he worked in a kitchen smelling good food, then he was pretty sure Sterling felt the same.
Upon arriving to the restaurant, Henry waited outside for Sterling. It was just nearing 3pm, so Sterling would be out any second. While he waited, Henry took a moment to worry about how well this date would go. Henry was nervous. He knew he shouldn't be. After all, it wasn't like this was his first date with Sterling...but damn it really felt like it. His palms were already starting to sweat.
