South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

There were very few times in which Anna was what you could describe as being in a placid state. Tonight was one of those few nights where she had been well fed early one and the drive to hunt was no more. Even her usual insatiable desire to seek out playmates was quiet. Anna was by all means being quite self-sufficient and content tonight. She had lingered within Crishlyn's estate for the few early hours of nightfall before trading her nightgown for her familiar vintage baby blue dress that made her crystral blue eyes stand out, white stockings, and black buckle shoes. Without Crishlyn to press modern clothing upon the child vampire she was much content to return to what was familiar to her. Where her caretaker had disappeared to Anna didn't know and for a while was displeased but like so many other beings that had come and gone through her life, Anna's attention span on the matter was waning.

Anna-Marie wandered the park until she came to her most favored place, the playground, or more specifically those swings. At this time of night in the lingering chilly winter air there were no other children or families. This area of the park was void of people for the most part save for perhaps a jogger every so often making the most of whatever time they had been given for such useless exercise. Anna knew she could make them run a lot faster if she wanted to. Rarely did any stranger stop or even do a double-take at the lone child sitting upon the swing seeing as Sacro was filled with so many supernaturals those late-nighters learned not to ask questions. So for now they remained mere passing entertainment for the vampire.

It was easy for Anna to be entertained by the simple activity of swinging back and forth for a few hours. What was time when you had forever anyways? Her soft blonde hair wisped in the air behind her on every downward fall to come crashing into her at the top of point. It was that very point looking up at the sky where for but a split moment you felt suspended in time before gravity took over again to crash you back down in backward swing that Anna loved the most. That weightlessness was a thrill in itself which led the daring girl to reach ever higher to see what limits she could reach and surpass. On that fall backward the delicate chain around her neck moved until a small ornate necklace slid into view on her chest. The silver base was shaped like the sun, petals sticking out in a complete circle around its center which had a ruby affixed there. Even the light of the moon was enough to catch on the precious stone making it sparkle even at night.

Anna hummed in content as she swung...until a certain presence entered the playground area. Although she couldn't fully identify it, they weren't running through the outskirts like the others so it caught the girl's attention. The small vampire slowed her swinging but didn't cease completely as her attention pivoted from the expanse of night sky to the border of the playground that fed into the rest of the park.
