South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Nothing Can Stop Me

I don't understand why she appears so thrilled about collecting all her apples, and yet I honestly don't mind the odd excitement at all. I guess everyone has to be happy about something. I do find it humorous though that she would think I would eat all the apples. That would be a very unkind thing for me to do. Besides, I had already eaten my fill for the night. An apple or two would be a nice treat for the night before I had to turn in. I do try to hold onto her tail in a gentle manner. I really don't want to hurt the little thing. Hearing her squeak did cause me to pause for a moment, unsure if I was really hurting her or if she was trying to signal her distress and need for me to lower her back to the ground. Not hearing any more sounds or feeling her fuzzy form move around I continue to take her to the hole within the tree where I had stored our bounty of red fruit.

When I show her the hole in the tree I can feel her begin to wiggle around, my hold on her gentle, and yet I was losing her. Gently I try to move her towards the hole, letting her tail go. I didn't move my head fast enough, because I felt her tail whack the side of my face twice. With a rough snort I take a step back as I shake my head stunned for a moment. Seeing her present one of the apples to me I take a step forward, lowering my dial again so that my teeth could grasp the fruit carefully. As I crunch into the fruit, half of it falls onto the ground. I quickly snatch it up again lifting my head to keep an eye on her. She seemed a bit of a klutz and I didn't really want her falling out of the tree. Playfully I shove my nose next to her, nudging her gently in the hole when she tries to go for another apple. My large nose blocked the apple from her and I gently poked her again, this time snatching the apple and lifting my lips, to show that the apple was indeed in my clutches.

Happily I begin munching on my prize. I take my nose and head out of the hole in the tree, my ears twitching back and forth. I turn around to look up at the night sky taking note of the moon's position. My free time for the night was coming to a close. I would need to be awake early enough to feed the horses and clean their stalls, and attempt to make it in time for work. I don't really want to be late to either one, and if I were going to even attempt to wake up on time tomorrow I would need to leave the ginger raccoon. With a sigh I turn back to see Abby finish eating the last of her apple. Gently I nuzzle her for a moment, a bit sad that I would have to say goodbye, for now. It was nice to be around another Were for a change. Before, I turned around to take my leave I at least say farewell, although I do hope to see her around again.

"I'm glad I could help you get some apples, but now I need to get back to the stables. See you around Abby!"
