The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

There is a way that she presses across the border of personal space that allows his breath to catch every time. Each moment of trust as she touches him, leans on him, that makes Archer believe that there is something more between them. That Blaise wishes it. At first he was slightly hesitant for he understood that the way of the fae was different. True, he was fae now, but he had always retained his human tradition of space and heeding it very carefully. Propriety was a standard thing for him, a Knight of the olden days. Yet the relief that shines in her large eyes makes his pain soften a bit for he has more to focus on besides himself. The pain in his side still aches and likely will do so for many days to come, despite the way his body has already begun to stitch itself closed. He wasn't a shifter, with their remarkably high rate of healing, but neither was he human or limited by the number of years of mortality.
She looks down and he thinks it is fear that skitters across her face. Fear for him? "If that is your command, then I will obey, he murmurs in reply, offering a wry grin to her because they both know that such a thing was impossible. None could thwart death, even an immortal. Once he had longed for death. Now, as he stares at the crown of her head and the silken strands plastered from laying against his fever-torn body... now he would fight the Grim Reaper itself to stay alive.
Scars don't, she begins, and a scowl overcomes HIS face this time, daring her to finish the statement. Yet she cuts off as he swings his legs over, letting her know he would not be ignored in this. What was the purpose in protecting her if he couldn't also protect her from neglect? It had become something real to him, this need to make sure that she was alright in every capacity. A sigh is given to her touch, his hand squeezing her own, despite how the feel of her fingers against his thigh make his blood burn. He is, of course, too weak for such exploitative thoughts, and he feels almost guilty for his body's response - she still had blood stains and cuts to attend to!
"I will be alright, Blaise. My purpose is to protect you. Even if you hadn't ask it of me with a blood oath, I would have done it." He looks into her eyes, offering himself, maybe expecting her to say the same about her help. About the curse that is already working in his veins, slowly burning through him. Soon he would be required to fulfill it's obligations again. She stands, brushing fingers across his chin, and bright eyes follow her until she disappears before he stares down at his pants, stained with dirt and sweat and a few droplets of his blood.
When she returns she is diligent in ignoring his stare and he frowns, taking the medical box from her before turning her face towards him with gentle fingers. "What are you thinking?" The aftermath of battle always unleashed demons, even in the warriors of old, and he found calm discussion usually eased whatever problems arose. "You know, once, a long time ago, I was sent on this skirmish by a powerful noble to protect his daughter." He grinned then at her, trying to ease whatever stressed her with distraction. "Truth be told, I don't think he had anything to worry about. She wasn't a beauty." He grimaces then, looking almost ashamed for such rude remarks before continuing while cleaning her wound and tending to it.
"Anyways, there I was with my companions riding along, thinking that I should be served better off asleep when around the curve came a contingent of hired mercenaries. They were hired to abduct the girl. Fair though she was not, her family was one of the wealthiest in the country. There was this young man with us and it was his first time on such a mission. But do you know, he didn't freeze it. We were stunned to find that he killed more of them than us! But he had reason to, you know, for we found out later that he loved the girl." Now he pauses, fingers cupping her face and thumb tracing her chin gently. "Even though we didn't know her, or care for her, we fought for her. But when you do care for someone, such situations are more severe. Just imagine how hard one would fight for such a thing." There is a weight to his voice, a heaviness to his eyes as he casts this spell over her, a spell not of any sort of real magical kind but magical nonetheless.
