The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

There was always a catch. The wind pressed against her skin like icy blue whips toying with her tousled locks as if animating it into something life like. All before the almost cruel gust flicked it forward so that her hair frames her face, tickling the top swell of her chest. His words finally no longer hold back the truth which apparently was harder to give than lying. Why was truth so difficult for people? She shook her head, golden eyes narrowing so slightly, her face almost dead pan save for her eyes flickering like tiny golden flames. Her body twitched so slightly, she was not a darling, but she couldn't fault him in not knowing any better. She was something else entirely, more than the beast that lives within her, more than the lovely appearance that she born with. But what was she exactly? Well, she knew what she wasn't.
"I know war.." She states rather directly before exhaling, her flame eyes watching him closely in predatory fashion. Her words darken, her gaze never dare wander. "I know of the destruction it drags in its wake and the harshness of it, sweetheart." Her lips twitch oh so faintly into a devious smirk which is wasted as it fades to melancholy seriousness. "I understand you need to recruit to fight your little battle to save your kingdom and loved ones, but I have seen enough blood shed and brutality to last a life time." She did not risk her life to break ties with one hellish situation just to be embraced by another wereanimal's pissing contest. Why would she jump into another slew of problems when she had enough of her own? She suddenly felt weary, but she couldn't afford to feel that, she was not in the clear yet, she wondered if she ever would. Danger had a way of following her. She released his hand finding her own balance for a moment, choosing to lean against that familiar tree, crossing her arms across her chest.
She was not hostile in the way that she stood, carefully poised, carefully masked. She was smarter than that, because why would she? She was injured, exhausted and on a precarious edge. Well, for the simple fact was he chose to be honest with her, even though it was a small slice of it, still hiding truths within honest words. Honesty should not be met with hostility, even though it brought a brush of anger, knowing the man would have kept his motives to himself.
The man continues his offer like a trained sales man proposing his pitch. Emotion wells up inside of her like blood filling a gaping wound, a whirl of uncertainty and rage danced within her. She was not leaping from one pack to join the ranks of another, not when she knew too much of what a pack could do. Not to mention she knew better than to take someone for their word and word alone. She didn't know the man and wasn't sure if she would. Her words are built with composure that only the were's that had some semblance of control. She drew in a steadying breath her pain an anchor and in its way snuffs out her torment. "Listen, kitten. I am going to need a lot more information than that." She sighs, but she was in no condition to fight, to challenge him, to push for truths when her mind was flooded with undiluted chaos. She tries to organize her thoughts, more like pushing the swampy mud that was her mind. "But you needn't worry. I am no one's property and if he is anything like you depict, he would do best to stay far away from me." The jungle cat tread of the edge of caution, and it was smart on his part not to force likes of her, or lie to her with honeyed words.
"Can you do something for me?" She asked, she leans in, golden eyes ablaze with a fierce wildness staring out, fixated upon him. His scent overpowered the massacre that little the once virgin white snow. She was in rough shape but she paused to offer him time to respond if he wished. "Don't lie to me or command me and we will be just fine." Her leg throbbed like a metronome as heat and swelling took over, her body frantic to purge itself from weakness and poison silver. She nearly threw up right then and there, or better yet all over the man that had offered her aid. What a day this had turned out to be. "Do we have an agreement?"
She wasn't sure what to make of his offer, she didn't trust it, nor him even though his actions were kind. Not until she had the full vivid truth before her. But that warmth and a bed sounded better than anything the man had ever said so far in at that very moment. What she would give to drift to slumber, to give herself one night to true freedom before it all toppled over. After all, she hadn't slept or hardly ate a thing since she hit the long journey to put distance between her and her own private hell.
