South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Emmy listens quietly when he begins to describe a place that might be able to withstand a storm as strong as some of the ones she can create. Most places were far too populated and the last thing she wanted was for someone to accidentally get hurt. He suggests a forest, but its no the location that makes her uneasy...it's the fact that some strange vampire is wanting to take her out into the middle of nowhere. While he might be innocent in his suggestion, he could very well mean her harm. "Perhaps." She would leave the offer open instead of completely shutting it down. She wanted to know where she could practice her magic in peace, but she also didn't want to get killed in the process. She would wait, see how this relationship went with Malek and go from there. If he proved kind enough to befriend her, then maybe she would follow him into the forest.

He comes up next to her, offering his arm to her. For a moment she hesitates. Should she accept his arm? He's been nothing but kind to her. And yet, there is still something that keeps her cautious. In the end, she silently acts as though she does not see his arm there and begins to walk beside him, her hands swaying loosely at her sides.

He points out the obvious: the ocean. She can't help but giggle lightly at the comment. It was quite obvious that the ocean was to their left. If the soothing sound of the waves or the salty air were any indication that they were on a seaside beach. She walks with him towards the path, listening as he states that this location is usually pretty popular with lovers. She looks out at the water and the view she's given is quite breathtaking. She can see why people come here. "It's beautiful." She is so taken back by the beauty of the view before her that she doesn't see him begin to stroll again. Only when he mentions his time constraints does she nod her head and follow.

Silence surrounds them as they walk...until Malek asks her questions that she wasn't sure she was ready to answer. She sighed softly. "I came looking for my late boyfriend's family. They deserve to know he's been killed." His death was still very fresh and she felt tears begin to fall lightly. "Where I come from...supernaturals are oppressed. If you are one, you best keep it to yourself. My family disowned me. Alex helped me learn." She tried to hold back her sobs. She was not about to completely lose her shit with a stranger.

They continue walking until they get to the edge of the forest. She looks down the trail, making a mental note of how to get to the clearing. While she wanted to go alone, she listens to his warning. "Then I'll just have to wait to visit. I don't know anyone here." She wasn't very trusting...especially of strangers. She would have to wait until she felt comfortable enough with someone.
