It had been a rather long and exhausting day and I for one am quite glad to be done with it. For some reason everyone at the café shop didn't want to come in today. Maybe it was because this was the last few days of summer before we fell into autumn. I am fairly certain that autumn and winter are our busy months, because it seemed that everyone needed, no â€" demanded â€" to have a pumpkin spice latte within their hands. You know I never was a fan of pumpkin spice and after my first experience of the fall season in the café I can adamantly say I despise it, entirely. I can honestly say I didn't have much sympathy when I gleeful told all the women that came into the café that we didn't have pumpkin spice just yet. Hahahaha bitches. No pumpkin spice for you! It'll occur within a few weeks and then I'll suffer, but for now I won't. It was a shame that today I had to work double shifts. The Were-fox that I work with was nowhere to be found, she was out and about somewhere. Probably with Alexander, which is fine, their relationship doesn't concern me. The boss can do whatever he pleases. It's the other coworkers I have a problem with. They didn't show up. In fact they never do, so I'm the only one that works. It's a pain, but I find no need to vocally complain. Work gave me something to do. It was a social activity. It allowed me the opportunity to be around others even if it wasn't something fun it at least allowed me the chance to do human interaction. I may have distance myself from others, because everyone I know simply leaves me behind, but that doesn't mean I have to deprive the needs from my horsey self. God, being a horse sucks sometimes.
But here I am back at the stables. Now this is the work that I don't mind doing. The other stable hands are responsible for their tasks. My evenings are spent mostly feeding and watering the horses. Every now and then I need to clean out the stables, but I don't mind. I like the company. They were quiet. Well sometimes. I think the horses mean well. Sometimes I let them sneak out to enjoy stretching their legs at night, under a full moon of course. After all I don't need them hurting themselves. I may not have a pack to run with, but I have them to help keep me company when I change. I can't communicate with them, but I can learn and read their movements and react correctly, or at least I hope I'm acting correctly. The nice thing about the horses is that they won't leave me, ever. I don't have to worry about them leaving or abandoning me. It's a very nice feeling you know. My day is almost complete. There is just one more stable I have to deal with and then my responsibilities are done for the day! Eagerly I unlock the door stepping in without a care as I dump some food into their feed bucket. I can already feel someone poking his nose against my back, and then again at my shoulder. With a grin, I turn around gently ruffling the top of his head, bumping my forehead into his own. Gently I stroke the side of his neck as I speak gently to the young male.
"And yes, you are my favorite. You silly egotistical little boy. I swear no matter what species you males are always the same."
Ever since he was born this young colt has constantly been wanting my attention. Why I have no idea. But I have to admit it is a bit nice. Although sometimes he can be annoying. Leaving his stable I shut the door and grab a few items placing them back where they needed to go when suddenly a familiar scent catches my attention. It had been months since I last saw her. I hardly knew her, but Alexander told me I could trust her. Now, I don't want to say that Alexander the Great is a liar, but...I think he is about her. She just went right off and left. He didn't tell me where to go. She didn't tell me. Now of course, that doesn't mean everything she does is my business, but it would have been nice to have been told something. Like 'hey, I'm not going to be around for a while' or 'hey, I'm going to disappear, no need to worry,' or whatever it is Dark Hunters tells others. I don't know her and she doesn't know me, but you'd think Alexander would have said something about not suddenly disappearing without saying something...I mean you know...common courtesy and all that. With a sigh I turn around crossing my arms in a defensive manner, muttering coolly.
"What are you doing here?"
