The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.
Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

Being alone in an unfamiliar city that he still knew so very little of, it was easier than perhaps he might have thought at first. After all, the were male had come from a past life where there was hardly a moment of still peace and silence. Having grown up in a family as large as his own, privacy was something that he'd been accustomed to not having, especially when that very family consisted of five siblings, Roman himself having been on of the middle children between them. And then, his older brother and sister, while childless, had significant others they were both one the cusp of diving into that sacred bond of marriage. He knew that Nicolette wasn't interested in the idea of having children all her own and starting a family with her mate, but his big brother Tristan was another story. He and his mate were both eager to build their own life, and Roman was honestly surprised that when he had taken his leave to set out on his own, there was still no news of a wedding or children on the way. He knew it was coming, though. And of course, he fully expected the twins to find their special someone and begin their own families. It was only a matter of time before his family grew into something so much larger, and a small part of him wished that he could be there to watch his siblings make an uncle out of him as little ones would enter into this world. Some might think that Roman bad left because of just how large his family already was or perhaps even due to the fact that it was his older brother that would take over as head of the Lionel Family when the day came that their father decided to step down. But, in all truth, Roman hadn't left for either of these reasons. Tristan deserved that place beside their father. He was older, wiser, and a natural-born leader. That was not to say that Roman couldn't become something equally as strong and steady for his family, but that wasn't the family tradition nor was it a life that the were particularly wanted for himself. He had a tendency to be reckless at times, and it was the thrill of a hunt, the rush of setting golden-hazel eyes on new worlds and discovering what lay within them that had ultimately been the driving force between leaving his family so a life seeking those paths less traveled and perhaps even perilous. He wouldn't allow for his life choices to affect the lives and well being of his siblings or parents. Of the few things that the were had in this life, they were the most important thing to him and the very last thing that he would ever want was for a decision that he made to fall back onto them. It was hard enough that they were a hunted race, always having to move from place to place in order to stay three steps ahead of the hunters that seemed adamant to serve as enforcers of the supernatural law. Yes, their entire purpose was to keep that delicate balance, to protect humans from creatures like Roman and to ensure that the other races did not overwhelm the natural world, but with such a purpose often came corruption and even obsession.
No, the were did not hold a hatred for the entire race created to keep his own and several others of the supernatural world in that easily disrupted balance, but what he couldn't stand for was the unfair slaughter of his kind. Hence why, despite having only called Sacrosanct his temporary place of residence for no more than a week now, there has already been two gruesome casualties left somewhere in the depths of the woodlands that skirted Hyde Park. He'd made sure to hide those bodies so that the scavengers of the animal kingdom would take care of the rest, the hunters having become the prey and left for their immortal bodies to join in that circle of life. Maybe he shouldn't have interfered, and yet he had been compelled to help a fellow were they'd been after that early afternoon. Roman did not hint or kill for pleasure. He saw little reason to join in the games that dark hunters enjoyed far too much, but he wasn't afraid to do so under the right circumstances. He was typically a rather laid back and even reserved individual, having taken well to the life of a lone were male without another soul to look after or share his space with. He was a civil beast, content in the presence of others, and yet in the same moment Roman kept the more intimate details of who he was or where it was he'd come from very much to himself. Some called it untrusting, but he considered it being cautious. Opening up meant exposing those vulnerabilities, and the were was far from keen on the idea of another knowing such things about him. Besides, placing such deep trust in another meant creating a bond, and a bond would hinder that life he lived now without a single attachment to sway him. It was this very desire to not have that worry on his mind of what another might think, what might be best for them or what he could do to make someone happy which had him walking this life thus far without a mate or past mate. He'd slept with a few women before, but Roman quickly learned that one-night stands weren't really his thing. How males could take on so many partners, enter into those intimate touches and be able to wake in the morning and leave their affairs behind without so much as a single ounce of remorse or regret he couldn't really understand. It just felt... wrong. Even if it was the woman that wanted nothing more than a night of company, he still wasn't able to bring himself to a place of acceptance that allowed for him to join those beautiful maidens between the sheets of their bed. While they might not be looking for someone to respect them in such a way, Roman couldn't simply turn a blind eye and use them to satisfy those much more primal if not animalistic drives that so many happily obliged. It wasn't who he was. He knew that if he ever found out that some male had taken advantage of any of his sisters in such a way, he wouldn't hesitate to make sure that the foolish individual having dared touch one of them would hardly consider becoming a repeat offender. Pushing away the thoughts of his family gently from his mind for the time being, knowing perfectly well he would revisit them later as they offered the only comfort he needed in his life as of now, he moves through the drenched undergrowth of the woodlands he'd taken a strong liking to. He'd been lucky the last few days, the sun having shone brightly in the crisp winter sky without so much as a single dark grey cloud to taint it. He had taken to sunning himself on that favorite rock of his that massive yet quite and precisely placed paws now carried him towards, but there would be no such luxury for the huge five-hundred and fifty-pound african lion this afternoon.
The heavens above were nothing more than one large and seemingly endless mass of dark cloud covering, reaching far beyond every point on the horizon that could be seen through the trees and towering, cold buildings of the city. The soft sound of rain falling all around him greeted those ears almost entirely hidden by his large and thick golden mane dampened by the gentle shower that soaked into his pelt and chilled the skin beneath ever so slightly. It wasn't as though Roman wasn't used to such conditions, the were shaking his large and proud head from time to time, sending water flying off him in fleeting relief as he continues to prowl through the vegetation being the only visible sign that he didn't exactly enjoy the winter rain shower. Powerful and defined muscle ripple in his shoulders and haunches as he makes his way towards the clearing he had essentially made his own, finding it more comforting than the hotel room he currently occupied in the east until he decided on how long he would stay here. There was something about being able to exist in this form as opposed to his human half that drove him to shift and remain this way until the sun would set and he almost begrudgingly would decide to shift back into that more accepted appearance before walking through those foreign streets and back to where he knew that bed of his to be. Only for a moment this morning had he contemplated remaining human for the day because of the weather, and yet here he was, breaking through the trees and into his clearing, every bit the fierce predator he could easily be if he so desired. Sinewy muscle tighten and flex as Roman leaps effortlessly onto the wet, stoney surface as he settles there upon the boulder in a sitting position with his long and tuffed tail flicking to and fro every now and again as those golden-hazel eyes surveyed the familiar surroundings. Calling upon his power, the lion enhances his sense of smell and hearing, drawing to him everything that he could. He hears the stirrings of a small field mouse somewhere in the depths of the woods as it scavenged for nuts and berries, scented the traces of human beings that wandered the park's more worn trails far out of sight, the nearest and least ventures of paths also coming nowhere near the clearing which was what originally deemed this quiet little world of seclusion valuable to Roman that gave him the chance to exist this way without having to worry about someone finding him and calling law enforcement. Or animal control... Content that everything seemed still and lacking in anything that did not exist among the soft and distant rustling of small creatures foraging through the trees and undergrowth, he lowering himself to a laying position with massive forepaws stretched out in front of him as hind legs become tucked beneath his muscled frame to keep as much of his own body heat from escaping. Jaws part in a large yawn then, the dull light of day glinting against long and sharp weaponery as he shifts comfortably there on that boulder, content to simply exist in the midst of that gentle rainshower that continued to fall around him.
