She set out from Frost's house this morning with a purpose in mind. She told him that she would start looking for packless Were's to join them and she was going to do just that, and with style too. She knew there had to be other Were's out there looking for purpose, for friends, for family. She had nothing against Tetradore and his pack but she wasn't a part of that pack. She was friends with him and Henry and she wasn't their pack mate. She was under Frost and she actually liked him and Nadya. They were nice. The ground was damp beneath her paws as she trotted further into the woods surrounding Sacrosanct. She knew she'd have just as much luck sniffing them out in animal form than if she walked around town in human form, sniffing the air for a sign. If they were a true Were, they would shift and enjoy nature every once in a while. That is, unless they were like her and didn't know they were a Were. She was in her coyote form for eight years, give or take. She thought that was all she was. She knew she was different. She thought differently than the other coyotes in her pack. But she was still a coyote. That is, until the wolf Raven and the panther Tetradore found her in the woods of Sacrosanct and told her what she really was. She was in denial for the longest time. There was no way she could be half human. She hated them. The first time she shifted, she was in a panic. Both because she was now staring at human hands and second, because she had been attacked and kidnapped by Hunters. Then Henry showed up and saved her. He was her truest friend, the first to befriend her, and he had been a human at the time. Now he was a Were too, turned by Tetradore himself. It was an odd story but she never felt more comfortable than when she was in his presence. She paused as a new scent found her. A deer. Licking her lips, she crouched and waited. She didn't have to wait long either. She heard tiny hooves running toward her and next thing she knew, it raced past her, its eyes wide in panic. She tilted her head, confused for all of a second before a second figure raced by, this one much bigger. A....what the heck was that?! She'd never seen anything like it before. So much hair and it was just so big, probably even bigger than Tetradore and Henry in their panther forms. Curious, she followed after, taking in his scent and reading him as a Were. Bingo. It didn't take her long to find him munching on the remains of the deer. Seems he'd gotten his kill. Knowing like any animal, he'd probably more aggressive when eating, she stopped well away from him so he wouldn't feel threatened. She cleared her throat to make sure he knew she was there, choosing to stay standing so she would be ready to run if he chose to attack. Her tail offered a wag to let him know she was friendly as she tilted her head and smiled. "Hello, I'm Malia. What ARE you?" |
