The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.
Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.
The University of Sacrosanct offers some of the top programs in the nation with its outstanding campus and specialized faculty. I'm about to make my own way, heaven help me keep my faith The world around Kathryn was wrenched within a world of broken promises. She had known that promises were not something to hold much faith in ever since she had been little. Ultimately, the cause of such a view was due to her mother. She learned early on not to believe a single word that woman said, or rather, wrote to her, the girl with nearly midnight hair has not seen her mom since she was four or five years old. When she had left, promising she would come back in just a few days to the sable haired child, but never did. The first promise broken in just a long line of crushed hopes and mournful longings. It had not been an unusual day, Kathryn and her mother often went to her grandparents house either to eat, or even just to have some dessert that gram would make, they went nearly every day to their house, though this was mainly to prevent Kathryn from wandering over there by herself as she would if they went more than two days without seeing her grandad or gram. But they had arrived, and it had not even been unusual that her mom had packed her a weekend bag, as was so common, for once a month, Kat was allowed to stay a whole entire weekend with her grandparents, how wonderful was that? So the dark haired chid had found nothing strange about her mother having her stay with her grandparents for a few days, in fact she was downright ecstatic about the prospect. "It may even be three or four nights," her mother had said and Kathryn had nearly fallen over in unbridled joy. "I love you so much Kathryn, please never forget how much I love you," her mom had leaned down and said to her before planting a kiss atop her daughter's forehead. She tucked a strand of sable hair behind her ear before hugging her own mother and father goodbye. She remembers running about those few days like the wild child she was (and to some degree still is). Kathryn had been allowed to do practically whatever she had wanted, within reason of course. She had ice cream for lunch one day, baked cookies with gram, and even was able to go to the farm that grew the plants to make whiskery with her grandad. It was some of the best days of her then rather short life. A few days passed. A few more. And a few more. Her mother did not come back to her like she had said. It nearly twenty years ago the last time she spoke to her mother, this fact is astounding to Kathryn, but not one she tends to dwell upon, knowing better than to waste time, energy, and emotional baggage on such things. She will never forgive her mother for abandoning her (though she would not change the upbringing her grandparents had given her for the world) but she no longer gets upset with her. In fact, if Kathryn were to actually see her one day, it would most likely be nothing more than a friendly wave and perhaps a smile, before she would continue on her way. No words need be spared. She would not be hostile, but the young witch would certainly not be welcoming either if such coincidences and irony would lead the mother and daughter pair to find one another one day down the line. The day is warm. Kathryn had left her windows open the previous night to let the fresh, cool, evening air drift through her small town home, but now, as morning has arrived, she can feel the heat gathering with her house, and it feels almost suffocating as she awakens in her bed on the verge of sweating. She hops out of the bundle of blankets, determined not to spend another second under them. Reaching her arms skywards, she closes those bright blue eyes, as bright as glacial ice in the arctic, or as bright as the sky on the first sunny summer day, as she enjoys a stretch, arching her spin before hands lowers and eyes open once more, appearing from underneath long, dark lashes. She goes to close the window, a barrier between the heat and her home and she sees the way the street seemed to almost smolder with the heat of summer. Suddenly a smile touches the witch's lips. She knows there is only one thing you can do with a day that is this hot. It was certainly time for a day at the beach. While she did not plan on actually swimming, she would walk around through the sand maybe take a stroll in the surf and allow for the cool water to rove over her feet. Besides, with the sea breeze to twirl her dark chocolate locks, it would be significantly cooler down by the water rather than right in town with all the asphalt and concrete. Kathryn slides a cute pair on light brown flip flops onto her feet, her toes painted baby blue, the same color as her eyes, as they always were. She throws a white crop top over her head and slides it into place, before putting each of her legs through a pair of white high waisted shorts colored with splashes of coral all over them. Those rose gold aviators slip easily over head ears and protect those silver blue eyes from the sun rays. All ready to go, the young witch moves to the door, locking it behind her. After her encounter with all of Sacrosanct's supernatural creatures, she was going to be a lot more careful in making sure that her door was always closed to unwelcome guests. Her baby blue bike is sitting out on the porch and Kathryn carefully carries it down the steps before stepping abroad and starting to peddle, making her way to the southern part of town. The breeze lifts her dark hair from the back of her neck as it comes out behind her, twisting the near midnight strands playfully. Eventually, as she gets closer to those open, blue water, a scent lingers in the air of sea salt and sand. It curls itself within the witch's nostrils, comforting her from within until her own physical physique begins to relax. The ocean breeze only continues to grow stronger as each peddle brings her closer and closer to that place she so desires. Those multifaceted icy blue eyes shining bright with happiness she has not felt since before finding out she was a witch. Parking her bike once she arrives, Kathryn locks it up before kicking off her shoes and moving off into the sand, letting the substance curl in between and around her toes as she continues her way towards the water. While the day may be hot, the water is still cold and it surprises the young witch at first before she steps away from the liquid and moves back onto shore. As she sits in the sand, she stares out across the endless expanse of blue before she notices clouds beginning to move. Disappointment swirls in her chest as the gentle pitter patter of rain begins to fall against sand and sea. Quickly she rises and moves over to the beachside bistro to get some cover under the over hang as the rain chills the air and the witch wishes she would have brought a sweatshirt or jacket with her, but once the rain stopped she could go home, but for now, she remains stranded by the falling water, icy blue eyes staring out as the sand becomes drenched and the sea rises in waves. |
