South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Wake up to your dreams
And watch them come true

While Micah was content to cling to his mother's legs, Izzy was all about interacting with Arya and holding the starfish. Izzy watched quizzically as Arya readjusted her hands to the starfishs' liking before placing the creature there. It was quite comical watching it try to hold onto such a small hand after Arya's. Nadya smiled softly as her daughter squealed in delight. "Mama! Mama! Look!" Izzy obediently pet the back of the starfish with a single finger of her other hand. One or two fingers, that rule she remembered, but for a toddler it was much easier to point than hold two fingers together.

Nadya gently stroked the back of Micah's head, "Micah got the melanistic gene but it's darker than mine. You can see quite a lot of the jaguar spots under mine and his is full black like my brother's." Their early age shifting at just barely after learning to crawl had taken her completely by surprise. She hadn't had a first shift until well into her toddler years. It seemed the twins were just destined to develop faster and some days Nadya wondered on the how and why part but there was no use in dwelling over it since there was no way to stop it. Nadya listened quietly as Arya explained about her species and water weres in general. It made sense in the end that she hadn't run across them before due to their 'natural habitat' being so vastly different. "I've never traveled there but I've seen pictures and it looks beautiful." They also looked quite cold and Nadya was true to her feline nature and tended not to do very well in the colder climates. It was a shame that beauty came with such temperatures.

When the starfish was taken back from Izzy she was content to return to the tidepool to poke around at the creatures. It held her attention for a few minutes before she was tugging on her mom's hand. "I go play?" Izzy pointed to the rest of the children's arena. Nadya nodded and slowly detached Micah from her legs. "You don't have to play but I want you to go with your sister." Micah looked torn at this rule but obeyed nonetheless, following his much more outgoing twin to the imitation vet clinic room.

"Thank you again for entertaining them. Their attention span can be quite short but I know Izzy loved it." Nadya settled back against the ledge of the wall confining the children in. She watched Izzy playing while Micah watched for a few minutes before noting the time. Shoot, she was going to have to pry them away. Nadya cast a glance back over to Arya, "I'm supposed to meet one of my pack for coffee. If you'd like and not busy, you could join us? Her name is Malia and she likes to meet new people too and it never hurts to know other Weres in this city." Though Arya wasn't a species that Malia could run through the forest with, she knew her fellow packmate liked to make friends and the pair could perhaps find something else to do together if they hit it off.
