South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Raylin Chike

Ray hardly found herself out at night wandering the sandy shores, the girl smart enough to know walking alone... at night in this city was a dangerous game to play. Yet, she couldn't sleep, her body restless from work, the woman unable to unwind properly tonight. Creeping through the sand, her pink hair unbound and untamable in the wind, she pauses ever so briefly at the dock where she had met Barney, hoping the dog would be out tonight. There was no luck and Raylin didn't really think Brennan would leave his dog out overnight, he seemed like a good dog owner at the very least. Still, Ray can't help but release a sigh as she folds her arms over her chest to gather warmth, a fairly strong wind whipping off the ocean and pummeling her.

Good lord, what was she doing? It was freezing and still winter, she was going to be too tired to get up in the morning to catch a few waves before work. Sighing, she's nearly ready to turn back around and head home when she catches a shadow on the sand. Holding her breath, she can feel her heart rate pick up slightly, only realizing it was a woman sitting there on the sandy shore, her cheek resting against her knee. Raylin pauses for a moment, her brown eyes traveling her lithe form only to see she had no shoes on. It was far too cold for such a thing! Making up her mind, Ray moves towards the woman, "Excuse me!" She shouts over the wind, gaining the attention of the dark haired woman, "Are you okay?" She calls again before finally reaching the sitting stranger.

Pausing, Raylin folds her arms over her chest once more, the girl hardly able to offer the woman any warmth, Ray hardly prepared for such a cold night either. It's only when she looks down does she see heels abandoned next to her, the girl giving a small sigh, "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you needed help," she laughs lightly to ease her embarrassment, "You don't often see people hanging out on the beach at night. Speaking of which, I've never seen you here before," Raylin states, the girl hardly moving from her spot as she looks down at the woman, a grin touching her features. And it was true, Raylin frequented the beach so much, she knew almost everyone that came here, from the locals to the tourists, to new faces around the city. "I'm Raylin," she finally introduces herself, extending a hand,

"Don't mind me, I was out for a stroll and clearly you don't need help," she laughs again, "Are you new here?" Leave it to Raylin to strike up a conversation with a stranger in the middle of the night, not that the girl was naive, she was merely too friendly for her own good.
