It was far too easy to fall into his natural predator instincts as he chases his meal through the reef, his body far too large to fit between the tight spaces and yet, Willy simply lets his mind take over. There was hardly any other thought on his mind except for food, his growling stomach the force behind those instincts. It wasn't as if he were a terrible hunter... he just wasn't as good as some of his family, the shifter more inclined to play tricks. Still, when you become as hungry as Willy is right now, you can't help but let those baser instincts take over. Though, the moment he corners his meal, he's very nearly ready to head butt the rock, wanting to widen the opening before a distinct female voice fills his head. Willy pauses almost immediately, before new horror fills him and he's backing up swiftly to give the prey... no the shifter room. He had almost eaten her! He was about to be a cannibal and the werewhale didn't even know it! That's when his more human side takes over, his massive mouth gaping in mortification. As disturbing as it was to see such teeth, it was a rather comical sight as he shakes his head, an apology spewing from their telekinetic connection.
Guilt blooms deep in the pit of his stomach, Willy very nearly ready to shed tears if it were feasible under water. The shifter is so caught up in his own emotions he doesn't see the veritable wince that the girl makes or even hear her coaxing, telling him it was alright. "I was going to EAT YOU! I'm a horrible and terrible person, I promise I'll make it up to you!" He tells her, his massive mouth finally snapping shut just as the seal comes swimming out. It was easy to put away those natural instincts, Willy squashing them down. The seal no longer looked like prey to him in his anxiety attack. And then... it was like his emotions turned off, the man hardly realizing the were before him was responsible for the calmness that suddenly took over. His emotions finally simmer out, his black eyes looking at the much smaller shifter next to him. The soft tap of her flipper has him almost relaxing instantly. It had been awhile since he had come into contact with someone else, it was nice, Willy an entirely social being.
Still, he can't help but tell her he would be her body guard, the man still feeling a bit of that lingering horror. Her response his him tilting his body so he can watch her a bit more, "I've already decided I'm going to do just that, you can even ride on my back!" He states ecstatically. It was decidedly hard to convince Willy otherwise when his mind was made up, "I know what your mind feels like so I can find you anytime in the ocean!" He exclaims almost excitedly before her next words have him blinking at her, the gentle laughter following it has the shifter open his massive mouth in an unnerving whale grin. "That's alright," he responds, his mental voice brightening though, at just that moment, his stomach grumbles with hunger, the sound rather loud in the water. "WOAH! I didn't know my stomach could do that in this form!" He exclaims surprised, his dark eyes looking back at the girl-seal.
"God! I'm just so thankful I didn't eat you!" He says, his voice very nearly turning emotional as he suddenly shifts underwater. Though, it's a partial shift as his waist and below remains that of a whale, sized to fit his human body from the waist up. With one hard stroke of his tail, he opens his arms and simply tackles the girl underwater, his arms wrapping around her and pulling her to his chest in an awkward hug. Opening his mouth to speak, he snaps it closed immediately as water fills his mouth and lungs. Releasing the girl, he paddles fiercely with his arms and tail to the surface, breaking it with a splash as he spews salt water from his mouth. Coughing and hacking, he beats his chest with a fist as he finally regains his breath, "Phew! I forgot that I shouldn't shift under water," he mumbles mostly to himself, glancing around for the seal who he was just hugging. Swishing his tail back and forth gently to keep him afloat, he hardly notes the bite of the wind on his bare chest, the... man? Merman? Merely, he's looking for his new friend because truly, Willy was certain that everyone in this world would be his friend.
