Raylin Chike
Truly, Raylin hadn't been expecting to entice the dog. After days of failed efforts she was almost amazed that he had come to her with jerky, perhaps it was simply because she had stopped by so often, or maybe it was because he didn't think she was a threat. Really, she wasn't a threat, the human girl harmless in every sense. Still, she's simply overjoyed by the progress she had made today, her fingers idly scratching behind Barney's ears. Her joke easily rolls off her tongue, Raylin entirely award of the baffled look that crosses his face, the girl biting her tongue to keep her laughter in. It's in vain as that bright giggle flows forth, explaining she was teasing him. She was pleased the man could laugh at himself, it was a rare thing these days to see just that.
"I don't currently have any but I have a friend who always has some in stock if you need some," she tosses him a playful wink though Raylin is entirely serious. The woman wasn't opposed to smoking, she had done it in the past for fun, for social events, you name it. Though, she didn't readily do drugs on a daily basis, the girl hardly addicted to it by any means, still, she knew how to have a good time. Who knows? Perhaps her next visit would have her bringing something with her, she couldn't imagine staying away from Barney now, especially with him so close to her surf spot! His accented words draw her dark eyes back to him, a faint smile still toying at her lips. The man spoke with such an interesting accent, it was hard to not be distracted by him. Maybe he was, in fact, a pirate!
The thought only makes her smile bigger, her head nodding in agreement, "If I didn't have to adult, I'd be out here all day," she says, smiling wistfully at the ocean, "I've thought about giving surf lessons, but I don't think anyone would want to go in the winter time. It would be a hard full time gig," she sighs, though it hardly darkens her spirits. His next words have her grinning oddly at him, my, he was an interesting fellow! His deep laughter is infectious and she can't help but laugh with him, even as Barney shoves his face into hers. Obliging him with more scratches, she looks up at Brennan, "Wild, huh? Well, at least you aren't shy," she teases him playfully, falling into casual banter with this man was easy for her. Raylin hardly stops her petting, even when Brennan so tells her that Barney would simply eat her if he didn't like her. Truly, the girl couldn't imagine the pup being aggressive at all! Standing, she catches the tail end of his question, Ray grinning positively brightly.
"Oh, I wish! Do you think I could pass for one?" She asks, as she turns in a circle to be inspected, laughing all the while. As she speaks about her mother, she doesn't anticipate what he offers in return, Ray grinning wildly at him, "I can't say I don't disagree with you, how about we just keep this between the two of us?" She asks, noting his own mischievous glance in his eyes. "Also, I promise not to tell my mom that someone thinks she's wrong," she laughs at the very thought of it, her mother getting huffy about being told no or being told she was wrong. Shaking his hand with a strong grip, she giggles at his suggestiveness, brows rising slightly, "I think I've found myself a womanizer," she grins at him, "Good thing I like to flirt too," she states before dropping his hand, her eyes straying to that book he so carried. She doesn't get a chance to ask about it yet, as he invites her into his boat, Raylin readily agreeing as she drags that towel off Barney that simply appears out of thin air.
He's comment about his dog makes her laugh again, the girl very nearly always vibrant and outgoing as she leans down and gives Barney one last scratch, "Don't listen to him, you're a big bad dog. I don't see any softies here!" She coos at the pup again before questioning his magic abilities. His response has her laughing, brows raising at the challenging tone in his voice as she gives him a small shrug, "I mean, I have a dildo in my room. You could summon that," she says wryly, her brown eyes narrowing with the laughter she tries to hold in. It doesn't take her long before she's trailing after Brennan, following Barney too as they make their way down the dock. His response to her question has her pausing for the briefest of moments, more or less because she was thinking. Giving him a small shrug, "I believe almost anything these days. When you're raised in a city with all sorts of magic, you start believing the impossible is very much possible," she laughs lightly before taking his hand as she steps into his boat.
The awe is hardly faked as Raylin glances around at the meticulous boat. It truly was a gorgeous boat! She begins to explore without Brennan, walking the length of it, though she hardly steps inside, at least not yet. His question has her shaking her head at him, her pink hair beginning to dry, "No, never. It's a beautiful boat," she says admiringly as she trails her fingers along the side of it, enjoying how the wood felt, "To he honest, this is the first time I've been on a boat," she admits, tossing him a glance over her shoulder. "I wouldn't know the first thing about taking a boat like this out in the ocean, seems like it could be wild and fun," she grins before turning on a heel and walking back to him, tightening the towel around her shoulders. "What're you reading?" She asks curiously, nodding her head down to the book.
