South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

She's some kind of an epitome, the sea of intranquility;

iliana amaranth

She's habitually paradoxical, a parallel perpendicular;

"My name is Iliana." She stated proudly, carefree like a happy little songbird telling her story to the morning sun, tender and sweet. That's what friends did? Introduce themselves, she was so very certain of it. Those near gleaming metallic eyes seem to peer at him with an expectancy to do the same, capturing those eerie ruby eyes in the illuminating moonlight overhead, thick charcoal clouds threatening to blot out that light. She thought without a doubt that this boy wouldn't hurt her. His face was all soft lines and he only appeared to be so very lost. She was sure all he needed was a friend. Even though in reality that intensity wasn't something the petite fae could ever read. She was certain he was merely misunderstood just like the wolves or the mountain lions, but one thing for sure was that all those animals he reminded her of was predatory.

Those words seemed to spill from his lips, his ruby red eyes glazed with something that her mind could hardly register. In reality, it should have scared her and she should have run long ago. His animosity seemed to radiate from him in waves, what an odd emotion to conflict with such a boyish face. How uncomplex she viewed that very world that still possessed vivid hues and hope. That was when that sharp, decidedly harsh tone of his voice snaps out of her out of her own thoughts. That silvery gaze draws downward to the floor, how she didn't understand. How she thought he liked her. "I...I didn't mean to." She admits as a rare soft brush of a sigh drawing from her lips, yet buried there, there is still hope... still dreams that even he couldn't abolish. What a foolish girl she was.

"I don't know.... What you want from me." She stares at him wide-eyed, her expression almost doe like, prey staring down the predator that hunted her. He was darkness, she could practically see it in his veins and how she refused to see it. He took a step back from her then, giving her that much needed space. "I'm sorry.. I really don't know what you are talking about." Tension fills her body like a coiled spring. In a moment she closes her eyes, tightly that she nearly see stars.

Run.. Every bit of her body told her... It was that slight glint of his fangs when he spoke that had finally woken her up, her very limbs, heart come alive. How cruel he was, his words so entirely harsh and full of hatred she couldn't quite grasp. Iliana, gasped... spinning around before breaking out into a blinding run. She felt tears blur her eyes, wetting in the corners as her legs began to move on their own accord. Nothing else mattered except getting free. She knew if she stayed.. that hatred would consume her. She ran into the depths of that forest until she was certain he didn't follow, until she was sure that his darkness didn't follow her to her sanctuary. How she ran with all her might until her lungs could hardly bare it any further, that ache of it almost too painful to breathe and yet she did just that.

The pale haired fae met the mouth of her cave... relishing with that familiarity before entering it, walking to the very back until she was surrounded by the things that brought her comfort, trinkets of gold, silver, platinum, and her favourite vibrant gemstones. Her silvery eyes seem to stare at a sapphire, getting lost with the comforting blue hues. Her lower lip quivered before the tears came, thick hot salty tears spilling down her sun-kissed cheeks. She sat upon that cold stone floor, drawing her knees to her chest and she wept. Wept for the deranged vampire that frightened her.

She didn't like it here. She couldn't hate it, the fairy was hardly capable of hating anything. But this place she was starting to reveal its less than kind intentions, these strange monsters that surrounded her were nothing short of frightening. Suddenly her thoughts were abruptly shattered, resolutely by a soft near broken cawing.. The familiar sound of nails of her raven companion as he hopped toward her mid sob, his eyes clearly sleepy as it was night and he was surely sleeping. "Oh Mr. Crow.." She sniffled, reaching out to relish in that familiarity, her friend. He perched himself upon the fae woman's knee offering the silent comfort of his presence alone. Truly in that moment that was all she needed. At least until the sweet embrace of tiredness overtook her at least an hour later and she curled up upon the cool stone ground and slept a dreamless sleep.
