Shifting, for Henry, was not something he liked doing. He did not like surrendering to his panther half, to allow that animal instinct to take over. It was this very instinct that had led him to maul Sterling and nearly kill him. Henry still resisted his other half, still hating it for the things it did and his own inability to control it. For Henry, unlike most weres who embraced their other half, Henry wished for it to simply disappear. If he had the ability to go back to being human, he would in an instant with no regrets. But that wasn't how this worked and he understood that. However, that didn't ebb his hatred for his were lifestyle now.
He followed Nadya out of the bar, making sure to slap a few bills on the counter to pay his tab. As he exited the establishment, he stuffed the wallet into his back pocket as he pulled the leather jacket more securely over his shoulders. He slid into the BMW and rode in silence. He was still a little inebriated and his head was already starting to pound.
When the car came to a stop, he looked over at her curiously. How the hell did she find such a remote place? Was she sure no one was trespassing that could accidentally get hurt? He still had so many questions, but he said nothing for the moment. He only sighed as he got out of the car, slamming the door shut. He didn't miss the way she locked the car door, making sure that he couldn't take back off to the city without her escort.
At her demand to strip, he looked away for a moment, trying to find some other sort of excuse. Something like she was from another pack and he knew damn well he shouldn't be running with her. But he found nothing. Already she was half undressed before he even began to take off his clothing. First off was his jacket, laying it neatly on the trunk of the car. Then came his shirt, shoes, socks, and then his pants. Once everything was laid out on the back of the car, he looked over at her naked body (not necessarily in a sexual sense, just an affirmation that he was really doing this). He took a deep breath and then a sigh as he slipped his boxer briefs down his hips and then onto the pile of collected clothing.
At her insistence that this was private properly, he glared over at her. "Unless someone is trespassing..." He was that kid growing up. Any sort of remote land called to him to engage in his drinking and drugs. Henry knew about trespassing and he knew that some people didn't give a rats ass about private property.
By the time he had conceded in shifting, she was already sitting there in her form, watching him. Her eyes locked on him and he turned to look at her. "I don't need your help." While his shift was not nearly as quick or effortless as her own, it was completely on his own - something he had been working hard on with Tet.
With one final breath, he allowed that familiar feeling to wash over him. He could feel the animal taking control. He could feel the way his fingers sprouted claws and his bones broke and reshaped. He felt every strand of fur that covered his body and ever sense of the panther overtake him. The shift took some time, but not an unusually long time. But just as soon as he had given over to the panther, it turned and locked eyes with her, a growl forming deep within his throat. This was his animal...not Henry. It took another few moments for Henry to gain control, but he managed it on his own start to finish was no longer than a couple of minutes, but a couple of minutes that could have led to a far different outcome if he wasn't concentrating.
As she came towards him, he watched her quietly, watching as she began to rub her form up against him. He could smell her pheromones and the animal in him took an immediate interest in her. Not quite enough to want to mate with her, but enough that Henry had to take a moment to ensure that it wouldn't bother him. He had only shifted around Tet. His panther had been bombarded with testosterone but never been around a female. It was a different feeling, something he most definitely wasn't used to. He returned her greeting, watching and waiting. This was her show and she was the director.
