The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.
Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

There was good and evil in every species. Erik had seen plenty of it for himself in his lifetime. Even in the lowest totem of humans, he had seen the kindness they could spread and the cruelty they could deal out with the same easy breath. He knew with any other Maker, he might have been a monster himself. But Godric was a unique creature himself and he taught Erik how to control the blood lust and how to be the best that he could be, how to change the world in a better way. He saw such goodness in Sorcha as well. She had a light in her that others wanted to snuff out and he wished he knew how to stop them for good. He would in a heartbeat. She had only to ask, but he knew that same light was what kept her from doing so. She didn't want to burden anyone with her problems. She wanted to fight them all herself. He admired that and so much more about her. She seemed to agree with him when he told her about the different magics and how it affects the taste of the blood. When he mentioned necromancers, he saw something flicker in her expression. He also thought he heard her heartbeat skip and sensed a sudden tension in her body, as if the very mention of them made her uncomfortable or restless. He knew even among witches and warlocks, necromancy was thought of strongly in either direction. Either they supported it and wanted the power it could bring them or they abhorred it with every fiber in their being. Of course he knew Sorcha would be the latter, knowing even the whisper he did of her. She was too pure for such nonsense. She did not react so strongly when he mentioned pyro witches but then they could be evil or good just like any other witch or warlock. It was all in how you chose to use the magic. She seemed agreeable enough when he told her he wasn't a people person. She said she wasn't either and he tilted his head, studying her for a moment before he spoke. "You still have a way of attracting people to you. I've seen it in the past. It's your light. Others want to be touched by it." His voice was low as he said it, almost as if he was speaking out loud rather than to her. He looked at her but it was more like he was looking through her. He knew he was one of those others. He saw that light and a part of him ached for any part of it he could be close to. Maybe there was still a little humanity left in him after all. He could see her face soften when he spoke of Adele and he knew she missed his house keeper just as Adele missed her. He often wondered if part of the reason Sorcha left was because of the chemistry between them, even if they never did anything about it. He usually talked himself out of it, thinking himself important enough to have made a decision like that for her. No, she had her own reasons and he wasn't a part of that. Maybe the chemistry was all in his head anyway. Sometimes he wondered. She was so hard to read most of the time. She offered him an apprenticeship then and his head tilted at her as they walked, watching her curiously. Did she really mean it or was she teasing him? She grinned and he leaned more toward the latter. She said she could teach him about herbs and he could teach her about observation. She teased about getting new customers and he chuckled, running a hand through his hair as he looked down for a moment. "Yeah but maybe not for the reasons you're thinking. I tend to attract a lot of unwelcome people." He was talking about Dark Hunters, of course. They still thought him a threat, mostly because of his ability to day walk. It could also be that he kept attacking Dark Hunters, interrogating them for clues about Maria. A part of him wanted to take her up on the offer, even if she was just joking. Just the thought of having a reason to be around her every day was comforting in a way. But he'd hate to bring trouble to her shop. He was deep in thought about it when they reached the apartment. He knew the best thing would be to turn her down, to keep his distance. He knew she was capable of handling herself but her would never forgive himself if something happened because of his association with her. Even as Darwin wrapped around his legs, his gaze still found Sorcha as she shrugged off her jacket, watching the movements carefully before she turned to him blushing at his comment about the interior decorations. He chuckled when she said that the lady at the store picked it out for her. Glancing around, he raised a brow and looked at her, the corner of his lips twisting up in a small smirk. "You definitely could have fooled me. I don't see a dirt pile or coffin anywhere so I think you've underestimated yourself." When she suddenly stepped closer, he felt himself inhale sharply, more to take in her pleasant scent than because he needed the breath. As she took his hand, he felt his skin heat in response, his gaze going from her face to watch as her hands cradled his own. His brow furrowed in surprise, looking back up as she thanked him. A smile tugged at his lips then and he was about to shake his head and dismiss the thanks when she leaned in and he felt the gentle brush of her lips on his cheek. He closed his eyes, savoring the touch but reopened them as she pulled back, his gaze filled with awe and something more. Quickly he composed himself though, taking in her pink cheeks and resisting the urge to caress the color with his own fingers. Finally he cleared his throat and nodded. "You're most welcome, Sorcha." That was all he could of to say for the moment. His lips twitched when she offered a movie or game, tilting his head. "What kind of movies do you watch?" He was curious. He couldn't remember the last time he'd sat down to watch anything on tv for that matter. Adele liked her soap operas or tv shows but he usually couldn't sit still long enough. He wasn't about to turn down more time spent with her though. He chuckled when she said he could tell her about his walks before he nodded. "I guess I can do that. Might put you to sleep though." |
