South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

the truth will set you free...
but first it will make you miserable

One might say that Isadore could be a tad short-sighted when she felt her stories were on the right track. It was hubris to think that she was any better than any detective but Issy was, often times, a prideful creature. It took losing a time to two to temper such beliefs but they were not all the way drummed out of her, judging by the way she sneaks in. Part of the allure of it IS the shocking bait-and-switch. There was something enjoyable about it and maybe Isadore was a bit vicious in that sense, but who could blame her? It was instilled into her from a young age. Plus she had a dislike for politicians ever since she had dated one and found out they had cheated on her with another long-legged, busty, blue-eyed barbie. It left a sour taste in her mouth.

Brows furrowing in consternation at his scoffing laugh, Isadore narrows her eyes on him. Dareios is blithe, casting aside her statements in a mocking sort of manner that puts her back up. She could be likened to a cat at this moment and Dareios the dog. Inhaling sharply through her nose, she breaths deep, relaxing her shoulder. This was no time to develop a temper. "If you say so, Mayor," she replies back, surprisingly coolly despite the flash of her bright blue eyes.

For a moment she freezes, the only visible sign of her surprise by the slight widening of her pupils at his words. Then, slowly, she smiles at him. It is bright but cold. "My apologies, Mayor Auerbach, is this much more to your liking?" There is a jab there in her voice. Was he one of those men who was stuck in the old days when women were to smile and be charming? She could do it. She HAD done it before. But Dareios being what he was had made that unpalatable. Who knew if she had tried her hand at being coy or seduction if she might not be the one bit in the end.

Slowly her fire dissipates as he hands her a card, his words soothing after the first round. More than any of that though, it is his promise that calms her and she deftly plucks the card from his fingers, frowning slightly. "I'd keep an eye on the east end," she says abruptly. "In the last city, the body was found in a populated district that also houses businesses. The one here was in the west, not much there but factories but you know that. Still, they could migrate inward. Vampire or not," she adds at the end, admitting that she could be wrong. She didn't think it was likely though, but she was willing to make the concession that she didn't know everything. Humans had crafted crimes to indicate other species before and this could be the same.
