The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

The Ascension Center of Equitation is the epicenter of the Dark Hunter Cavalry Unit. Originally a high-class facility for show-jumping, Ascension now caters entirely to the Cavalry Unit. Here the Dark Hunters learn how to ride and fight upon the backs of horses - many of which are Were's themselves.

Hyde Place takes up a large part of the Southern side of the city and includes a large playground, several fountains, and a small garden. The park is open from five in the morning till midnight though many shady characters may visit this place while it's technically "closed". The park has also been a venue for several concerts and hosts many holiday-related events. Under a full moon, witches are often seen here for the sacred ground beneath the iconic Weeping Beech.
The Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) is an award-winning combined zoo and aquarium located within the Southern Part of Sacrosanct. Situated on 92 acres in Sacrosanct's Hyde Park, the zoo and aquarium are home to over 9,000 specimens representing 367 animal species. Point Defiance is also widely known for its conversation efforts regarding the breed and release program of Red Wolves.
Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

PhD in Plant Biology Abigail Hughes
He wanted to know all about her, even her past relationships, knowing it would only help him know all the ways she was shaped into the fae she was today. It was hard to picture someone else being with her the way he'd only been allowed briefly so far but he reminded himself that they now shared a lot more together, having a baby on the way. It was a glowing feeling. He could only wonder what it was like to be with a Were. He knew some in the past and they were good people but he also knew many bad ones, many he'd had to kill for a contract. He could still remember every one. When he talked about his own past, he could sense a little withdrawal in Sam and his brow furrowed in concern. When she said that she wished she could have had the experience he did as a born fae, he nodded. "I do, too." Though his face darkened when she said how she used to wish it had never happened at all and he looked down for a moment, trying not to think about how his temper could get him in trouble. The idea of anyone hurting her like those fae girls did made him want to beat someone into a pulp. Of course she resented what happened. She had every right to. Her life was taken from her, not given like a gift. It could have turned out so much worse. He'd been called to take out evil fae before that were in her situation, ones that were turned against their will and rebelled on a mighty scale once they figured out their own powers. They were alone like she was and lashed out in anger instead of coming to terms with it and learning how to use their powers for good. She was a good story out of so many bad ones. She was much more brave than she gave herself credit for. When she said she wouldn't change it now, he smiled hope shining in his eyes as he gave her hand another squeeze. "Good. Cause I might not have met you then and I can't stand the thought of that." When he asked more about her past, she said she didn't regret it and he smiled again, though it was full of sympathy. She was a good and powerful fae now but he hated that she'd had to go through that to get to that place. She deserved so much more. When she looked again at him, he felt his heart skip a beat as she said she hadn't planned on telling him about her death. "I'm glad you told me anyway." He admitted. She said she had a few dark parts to her life and he leaned in. "I want to know about every single one. I'll show you mine if you show me yours." He said with a sly wink, hoping it would help lighten the mood a little. When she moved closer to him, he couldn't stop his mind and his eyes from wandering. She was so perfect in every way and he ached for her in a way he never had before. It was new and terrifying yet he couldn't stop the pull he felt every time she was near. The only distraction was the hint of his brother and he couldn't stop himself from asking questions. He would have liked nothing more than to drop it and turn to more private matters with Sam but Troy was a vital part of his escape from captivity and he felt the urge to find him more than anything. When she pulled out the photo, he felt his heart leap with hope but he didn't want to get lost in the concept without some kind of confirmation. Luckily it was only seconds before he was able to look into the familiar hazel eyes of his brother. He traced his brother's figure with his finger, his lips tugging into a smile of their own accord. It was really him. When he dared to ask Sam had any recent contact with him, he turned to her in awe when she said she met him when she first came to Sacrosanct. Kit couldn't help but chuckle. "That's just like him. Never one to turn down a pretty girl." He smiled knowingly. Then she said she last saw him a year ago and met them both around the same time then. Kit tilted his head in wonder. To think they were both in Sacrosanct at the same time yet didn't find each other. How odd the world works sometimes. But now he could rectify all that. She said she had his number but the next words took him for a major spin. He reeled back in his chair, his eyes wide in disbelief. A wife and child? Could this really be the same Troy? "Are you sure we're talking about the same guy? The Troy I spent 700 years with never wanted to settle down and God forbid you bring up children." He scoffed lightly at the thought. But the picture didn't lie. That was definitely his brother. Wow, how a century and a half apart could change someone. When Sam spoke again, he looked back at her, giving her his undying attention. She mentioned she used to be a Queen and he smiled. "I don't doubt it for a second. You exude such confidence and have a way of drawing people to you. I would follow you within seconds of meeting you." He smiled softly. She told him Troy was in her monarchy and he was probably still loyal to her. He nodded. "Troy was always loyal, if nothing else. He adored our father, always fighting for his approval, something he never got." Kit admitted with a scowl of disappointment in his father. "And I always knew he would do anything for me when it was just us. We stopped talking to most of our family but we had each other and that's all we needed for the longest time. There were flings but we always came back to each other to continue traveling around and hunting. Until I got captured, I thought that was going to be our entire existence until someone managed to off one of us. Then they'd have to kill us both cause I knew he'd never leave me and I wouldn't leave him." He smiled wistfully at the thought. |
