Her gaze followed Henry's as he looked at the snake, and for a moment, she could have sworn he had a look of yearning in her friend's eyes. Quirking a brow, she looked back at the snake and scowled thoughtfully. What was there to like? It had to stay locked up in this little bitty space day in and day out, getting stared at and poked at and fed only what it was given. No space to roam, no prey to hunt on its own. It had no choices of its own, not where to live, where to sleep, what to eat. Sounded like torment. The hug was instinctive for her, the need to comfort a friend overwhelming in that moment. The man tensed up, but Malia didn't take offense. Instead, she just tightened her arms around him, letting herself enjoy the moment, even if he wasn't used to it. When she tried to offer a den, he said he was looking for an apartment and she drew back with a smile. "Oh yeah? Hope its got a guest room." She teased with a smirk. She didn't plan on just showing up looking for a place to stay for the night, but she had to mess with him a little, anything to get him to smile. She hated seeing the sad look on his face like he had right now. It was those times that she could tell he had to be thinking about Sterling. Pointing to a cage that said "anaconda" on the card, she looked at Henry. "Think you could take him in a fight? I beat he could wrap a panther up in seconds." |
