Some fear fire, but I've become it.
How convinced she was that her boyfriend would be used to her gentle, playful teasing by now. Yet he was so oblivious to her obvious flirtation. How he missed the point she was attempting to make as it flew so completely over her boyfriend's head! How he could be so oblivious sometimes, almost innocent to the way most men's brains were wired even though she secretly found it charming. She couldn't help the small curl of her lips. "I guess there is more than one way to try and get your attention." She added with amusement.
Yet she would never forget the first time the pair walked into that garage together, or the awe she felt. The pool overhead cast a peaceful and pleasing bluish tint with ripples dancing and reflecting upon the floor and glossy cars. It was impossible not to notice that mysterious other, nestled innocently amongst the car he just purchased and the Aventador they used to get around. That unenthusiastic word left his lips drew her attention to him in an instant. Surprise. It was hardly spoken in the way it was designed to be said and yet it still had the same effect as he led her toward that covered car she revealed beneath its protective cloak.
She couldn't help it, hardly able to come to grips with what she was faced with. Yet, she clearly was not one to be assuming even if she had known from the start, exactly what he meant. This was a lot to take in. The lavish shopping trips, the impressive dates to foreign locales, the gifts. Her upbringing made lavish gifts near impossible... nor did she put too much stock in too many materialistic things even though she sometimes found her coveting over a handful of things... or dreamt of this very vehicle. She uttered her disbelief, her boyfriend responding with his usual patient bluntness. This car was hers. How long had he planned this for?
He strode closer to the shocked and elated she-wolf whose gaze all but focused on the glint of that keychain that he dangled before her. One that he had procured from the hidden depths of his pockets. It dangled before her with temptation. It felt all too surreal, she couldn't control the way she closed the short distance between her and her boyfriend before pressing her lips against his own. His lips always felt so good against her own, even the most chaste of kisses.
He began to speak and yet she was hardly done kissing him. She was perhaps wanting far more than just that and yet she had to see the car. Her excited reaction earned a rare masculine chuckle from deep within his chest. His features no longer apathetic, shifted into something far more amused by her behaviour. At least until she mentioned that date that she could take him on. That seemed to catch her alpha unawares and his features once more shifted into something far more skeptical. Fine. Was all he said, as if not convinced at all. Did he not like that idea? Was it wrong to want to take him somewhere that he might enjoy? Yet he still did not say no and his mood still remained amused. That look, she decided, softened his usually stoic, stony expression. She could not help but feel in that moment, the desire to be closer. Perhaps that was why she threw her arms around him affectionately, her face buried into the crook on his neck.
She had felt his body freeze like he had turn to stone before his body seemed to soften against her own, hugging her back. How many times had she just wanted to hug him like this? Those words of thanks and appreciation spoken into the crook of his neck as her cheek was caressed by the gentle dark curls of his hair. She relished in the feel of his hands upon her and even more so, that sweet kiss pressed to her forehead. His reply, offering the rumbling, soothing baritone of his voice only further enveloped her as she let her dark lashes flutter shut to merely soak in that very moment of intimacy and the realization how much she craved this... and him. It was hard to pry herself away, even though her excitement was damn near palpable. But she had to see the gift, it would be insulting if she ignored it completely.
The car beeped happily as she unlocked it with a press of a button on that fob, the woman scurried to slip into the driver's seat. She could feel those striking emerald eyes follow her very movements, aware of her like she was always aware of him. She wondered that that look in his eye was and yet her attention was swept up by that vehicle that was now her own. She could barely believe it. The brunette's fingers traced whatever they could touch in awe, lingering over the button to lower the window of the passenger side. All just so she could lean and offer him a near irresistible invitation for him to join her inside that car. Surely, he wouldn't say no, not with that glint in her golden eyes that seemed so eager to share that moment with him.
Her boyfriend conceded silently, before he all but flopped into the seat as she babbled happily.. He did not need to shower her with lavish gifts, he was enough she assured. Her golden eyes peered to Aiden, curious of his own reply. His voice trailing off as Mira waited patiently for him to finish uttering those words that seemed to have far more weight than she expected. Confused concern flashed behind her molten, golden eyes. "Forget? You are unforgettable to me. What do you mean?" She paused to allow him to respond even though she could not help but feel that worry threaded within her chest. Was he leaving? "Are you..." She frowned at the thought, she had grown too used to his presence lately, used to the way their relationship had grown. She forgot that going back into their regular routine would mean everything would have to revert back to once was. Could she give it all up? Or maybe not all of it had to be lost. But nothing worried her more than his absence entirely. She could live with their covert looks, their sporadic dates, their impromptu rendezvous. "Are you going away again when we get back?" She questioned, cautiously, the vulnerability in those words hardly concealed. Had she truly been living in a fairytale these last few weeks?
The car fell silent after his reply. No, she would enjoy every last minute with him like this while she had it. How long had they existed without labels? How long had they made their own way despite it all? Why should it be any different?
She refused to ruin that moment. Concealing her concerns, for the moment with an all too teasing comment all but caused the man to groan with an obvious roll of his eyes that caused her to laugh despite all else. Even though he threatened to get out, he still made not motion to do so. "Noooo, don't leave. Please? I am done... See!" For the moment, laughter coloured her words as she pleaded in playful surrender. She rose her hands as if waving the white flag. It didn't help that she had an endless supply of them! She had better keep those to herself, at least for now. She allowed her fingers to run over the chrome logo of the Jaguar on her steering wheel, one that would forever make her think of the boyfriend at her side. Yet... she could not help but wonder. Her molten golden eyes sought his vivid stare as she merely took in the sight of her boyfriend. The man oblivious to how attractive he actually was to her.
Mira's hand gently reached out for his, in an attempt to tug him closer. Her voice lowered like she was about to tell him a secret. "What if I told you I knew another way to make sure I don't forget.." She could not hide that heated gleam she got in her eyes, curious if he would catch what she insinuated this time around, all as she tugged his hand gently to bring it to her lips, lowering just a little to meet him there. She couldn't stray from that emerald stare that felt as though they could swallow her whole."Or maybe I can find other places we could make some memories too." She does not help that suggestive hint to her voice. An offer that she was curious if he would make the most of and how she hoped he would.
