South

The southern part of the city has a chic family-oriented sort of charm to it. Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Hyde Park was the only place Allie could think of that would satisfy her need for socialization. People approached her seeking conversation often enough, but the social anxiety made her absolutely hate talking to those. She stood on the footpath, a pale foot hovering an inch over the grass beyond it. She was hesitant to cross over onto the grass barefoot, knowing how much her feet would burn for it later. "Oh dear..." she muttered under her breath, having already spotted a few little critters scurrying around here and there on the grass. She turned her head back, trying to look out a shop where she could possibly purchase shoes, only to quickly dismiss the idea. Slowly she drew her foot back and placed it down on the pavement, before lowering herself down to sit, cross-legged, on the pavement. She reached into the pocket of her thin white dress, pulling out a small bag containing an assortment of nuts. Squirrels were the things she saw here most often, so she thought that maybe, just maybe, she could tempt them over to her.

"Come on, little guys, I wont hurt you. She spoke so softly, her voice barely more than a whisper as she scattered some of the nuts on the grass infront of her. she never really liked the conversations the squirrels provided her and sge often found them a little hard to understand. They spoke so fast, faster than she could keep up.

After a few minutes of trying, she sighed with defeat and stopped. She wasn't getting anywhere. Running her pale fingers through her white hair, amethyst orbs stared longingly out at the park, silently cursing her allergies. She was so lost in her own little world, playing with her hair and staring out at the park, she hardly noticed the sounds of footsteps behind her. When she noticed she opted to ignore the noise, possibly pretending to be deaf. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing to do but, the thought of conversing with another person made her feel sick. She didn't even notice when her pale frame started to shake lightly with the nerves of being spoken to.
