The atmosphere at home had grown tense, the bickering that had occurred in the coffee shop had put him on edge currently. He hadn't been much help in the matter, rising to the bait rather than being the bigger man and learning when he had hurt or offended Avi, instead he had sulked and snapped. Withdrawing and growing petulant, it was during this problematic period that Ian had resolved to leave her be, rather than further antagonizing her, he chose to spend more time out of the house when she wasn't at work.
His reluctance to change while Avi occupied the house had been another failing point, it left him cagey and fractious â€" more prone to passionate outbursts and childish behavior, so much pent up energy would not do any good alongside the unusual air that had descended after their spat. Since Avi worked early hours and day times, Ian often had the run of the house, but he made sure to keep track of time, stealing away before she arrived home â€" or on some occasions taking to his Serval form and scaling the fence in the back yard.
Today, his timing had been perfect, he had left in plenty of time, to avoid any confrontation and to reach the outskirts with enough daylight to properly asses the area for any potential threats. Unlike the last time he had visited, there didn't seem to be an abundance of Weres, in fact, the area seemed positively deserted. Shrinking to a crouch, every terse nerve and rigid muscle in his body relaxed as he took to his Serval form. Diminutive in scale when compared to most of the other Weres that populated Sanctos, still he felt no shame.
He took his time, stretching out each muscle, flexing his claws and savouring the scents of the various wildlife that could be a sustainable meal for the evening. Though he had often had plenty of money, it was wise to take advantage of the ability to get a free meal whenever possible, particularly in his current situation. With that in mind, he tucked the various items of clothing he had under a nearby bush and trotted into the undergrowth, oversized ears swiveling to pick out the first signs of any nearby prey.
