The smell of spring was heavy within the air, saturating it with an almost sickeningly sweet scent. The moon hung heavy in the cloudless sky, easily guiding the man's way down the unfamiliar streets of the Southern neighborhood. It wasn't often that Tetradore wondered into such suburban parts of the town. Usually he stuck to his rough and rugged warehouse district between the looming, empty factories, the busy black-market district and his own, silent, floating cargo ship. The ship was his territory - it was his home and diligently he watched every on-going activity within it's hull for the better part of winter, choosing it's warmth over risking a step in the snow that coated the wooden docks outside. Tonight, however, despite the cool spring zephyr, Tetradore had deemed the evening warm enough to worth an outside venture....alone. It had become a habit, being surrounded by his pack in the Ark but after months of their constant presence, the Alpha found himself desperately seeking some reprieve of their sometimes (okay, often) obnoxious antics.
The park nestled in the middle of the Western neighborhoods was far closer then the forests that skirted the town, causing Tetradore to deviate from his normal routine. It was late, nearly encroaching upon midnight. The park would be closed, the children tucked safely in their beds behind locked doors. His nails clicked on the stone as the feline slinked over the cobblestone, his emerald eyes peering into the darkness that surrounded him, glancing over dark window faces that bordered the park. It was if the mad had to reassure himself that there was no one else present before he stepped off the pathway and onto the well maintained ebony lawn of the park. He moved with the grace of a predator, a bound in his step as he made his way towards the playscape in the corner. His species natural climbing abilities reveled at the notion of the championing the large metal jungle gym - as silly of an idea as it might be. His feline figure slipped easily between the bars as the feline crawled, clawed, and climbed his way to the top - momentarily standing triumphantly on the very tip of it as he surveyed his conquered domain of the playscape. That was, until the sound of footsteps reached his sensitive ears, his ebony figure lowering against the metal bars he stood on till his belly was pressed against them, his tail flicking ever so slightly from side to side.
