Here, small locally owned shops run rampant, neighbors often know each other by name, and the monthly socials are an event not to be missed. In the South, children can often be seen safely playing in the park or on sidewalks and in the weekends, families often take to the beach to enjoy the warm waters surrounding the city.

Beyond the city limits and over the bridge lies the deep, dark, and almost impenetrable forest. Often seen as a way to guard this magical city against the world that surrounds it, many are entirely ignorant of the evil that may creep between those tree trunks. Many were-creatures use the forest for the transformations of their newest members and some even take to hunting here. It isn't particularly peculiar for people to go missing within this forest but once you get through, the rest of the world awaits.

As one would expect, a great many facets of Isolt's life had transformed in order to acclimate to the eternal prospect of a life unending. And, as so many of these transformations undoubtedly were, the manner in which Isolt slept was the farthest cry from the manner she had in her mortal life. She did not dream, not truly... not anymore. It was as if what etherreal wizardry had employed itself in order to keep her body, her spirit, active was either unable or unwilling to craft the amalgamation of reality and fantasy that were dreams. Instead, Isolt was merely paraded with the shadows of memories, both gracious and gruesome, day after day. There was not even a shard of fantasy to pull from them, they were as they had been in reality, and she knew in the deepest portion of her heart that it would always be so. Dreaming was, as so many things were, a fruit sanctioned only for the gardens of the living.
It is in this dreamless, death-like sleep that the young redhead lingers in the cool darkness of the compartment that would shield her from the sun's damning rays... until she is jostled awake by what very well may have been the stray arm or leg of her traveling companion. Startled, Isolt jolts forward before realizing, with some measure of confused excitement, where she was and with whom. Attempting to questionable avail to straighten the less-than-flattering auburn mess of her curls, delicate fingers rake swiftly through the disheveled coiffure in order to pull it back from her face and into the somewhat more orderly constraints of an elastic. She nods vigorously at Davante's request, ever more alert as the seconds slip from her fingers, the departure from the aircraft simplistic and yet... marred by the uncertain glances cast to the pair by the flight staff. But though curiosity plucks at the fibers of her consciousness, Isolt does not question after their presumed aversion to what was either her presence, or simply her presence paired with Davante's own. Distraction did she find in the buds of excitement that bloomed readily within the relative still of her gut.
Content to allow Davante dominion over the interactions that follow, the delicate vampire ascends the steps to the markedly smaller aircraft in silence before folding her slender frame into the seat she is motioned to. Unfortunately, and as she should have rightly suspected, this flight would be decidedly less congenial than the last.. her body growing rigid with the pushing aside of the blinds that, though the darkness would shield them from her eyes, surely would betray the depths that lay sprawled out beneath them. It is this fear of heights that not even death and the resultant immortality could irradicate from the psychological mesh that entwined it. Thankful is she, then, for the distraction of his words, for the mental and emotional snare that is his uncertainty... his trepidation. A furrow knits into her brows as the azure of her gaze flicks gently to his own. Having witnessed Davante's inherent and yet nonetheless fiercely-shielded emotional vulnerabilty on one occasion prior, Isolt lingers a moment in silence, calling forth the words that would serve her companion best before whispering into the dimly-lit confines of the space that separates them. "This is fine. And you don't have to explain anything, Davante. We can take it a step at a time." A smile buds upon the plush cushions of her lips at his question, somber though it undoubtedly was. "I want to know everything, that's just the way I am. So how about I only ask about the truly pressing things, hm?"
The remainder of the blessedly brief hop to their destination transpired mostly in a state of anticipatory quietude punctuated only with the clenching of fists by the youthful redhead whenever the dingy craft took a particularly perilous dive. The landing, it would prove soon after, was little of an improvement over the flight itself, Isolt clutching desperately at the seat before her as the precariously delicate plane jostled against the tarmac. None too soon was she out upon the flattened earth that had served as their landing strip, taking her bags unto her shoulders as she surveyed the surrounding airport with what could have only been polite astonishment. Here she was, in one of the many locales she had only ever dreamt of being, this thought alone stealing the words from betwixt her lips before she ventures forth to the terminal, forgetting for the barest moments that her companion lingers behind.
