The night was already proving to be pleasant. Despite it being summer, the temperature was splendid. There was hardly a cloud of thick, muggy humidity. The wind blew only slightly, dusting the fallen leaves and debris with its gentle kisses. Dusk was beginning to give way to the twilight, though the bright orange and pink shades of the dying sun were still bright enough to illuminate much of treeline in the distance. The park was nice enough to take a stroll through, but I wasn't here for just some leisurely activity. I had my sights set on a human female who seemed to be quite comfortable with the fact that it was getting dark out. Guess she wasn't aware of who was watching her.
She had waist-length black hair, straight to about the shoulders then twisted into gentle waves. I couldn't tell what colour her eyes were from here, but that didn't matter too much. That hair though.. Black hair always made me weak in the knees. I noticed that my body was starting to react much sooner than anticipated; in a desperate mode of frustration, I had to tell myself to calm down. We had a job to do, and there was no way I would let my body finish before my mind was sated.
I felt my body starting to calm, the blackness of my eyes fading into their glorious blue tint. The emotions of excitement drained back into a quiet purr. I used the comfort to my advantage. I adjusted the collar of my blue silk button-down, making sure to pop the first two buttons. I had been told I had a nice neck, though it wasn't like I needed the ego-boost. I knew I was shining perfection. I thought about removing the blazer and hanging it nonchalantly over my shoulder, but that might look a little too suspicious. Maybe. Then again, maybe I was just a business man out for a stroll. The details were of little concern to me.
I saw her pull a cellphone out of her pocket, look down at it and smile. Good, a distraction. I used this moment to change my direction and head her way. How would I play this? Suave debonair? Lost tourist? Oh hell, like it mattered. I had a secret weapon up my sleeve: Emotional Manipulation. Oh and wasn't I ever good at utilizing that tool, too. I smiled gently to myself, my long, lean legs clearing the space between us effortlessly.
I could tell when she realized I was near. I have this.. energy about me that causes great discomfort and distrust in others. Perhaps it's my height, my smile, or the fact that I'm actually a psychopathic murderer behind these beautiful blues. People can tell there's something not quite right about me, even though I'm rather amazing to look at. Her fingers stopped typing, and her whole body stiffened up. I could tell she wanted to look up, but there was a drumming in her chest that was becoming louder and faster with each passing moment.
Once her heart rate was high, about as high as it would be when you've been speed walking for several minutes, I decided to let my power slide into her mind. She was definitely afraid, but surprisingly it wasn't because of potential harm. It felt like she was meeting someone here, someone she met several times before but could never get used to. Hm. So she was a substance abuser by the feel of it. I could tell, not because I can read her mind, but because I dealt exclusively in that trade. I knew the emotion well. This could definitely get interesting.
"You're not my drâ€" Andre." She said. Her voice was low, and her head was still down.
"And this is an interesting place for a deal, don't you think." I spoke in my usual smooth accented voice. Even after hundreds of years living in the old Blighty, my current accent always held just a slight overtone of my ancient one. I had no qualms about it, loved it in fact, it just made fellow Englishmen confused as to where I hailed from. Guess most humans didn't realize there were actual vampires living amongst them.
"There are children who play in this park, and yet.. here you are." I felt her stiffen again, and a wave of guilt washed over.
"Look, I'm not here for chitchat. I give you the money, you give me the stuff, then we leave."
Quick as a flash I was beside her, eyes bearing into her like I could see through her flesh. Her anxiety was spiking, and now she was afraid for more reasons than just getting caught with drugs. Now she was afraid for her life. My body responded accordingly. There was no more repressing the excitement. With that though, I released the dark matter I had implanted in her mind. I wasn't someone to fear. I wasn't here about drugs. She wanted to come with me. She knew she could trust me. Suddenly most of the anxiety left, though it left her confused. She probably didn't know why she had to come with me, but she turned toward me.
Ah, so they were green. A heavenly mix of the dark forest and sunlight through the trees. They were beautiful. I felt myself get weak in the knees, my manipulation wavering with the distraction.
"Who are you?" She asked. Her voice was husky, throaty. Even without my help, just getting a glimpse at my face was enough to send her cautions to the wind. Obviously she could trust a man in a suit, with gentlemanly hair and eyes bright enough to set alight to the darkness of twilight. Her emotions quickly turned to arousal and I was suddenly unable to focus.
"My name is Arie, love." I said, forcing myself to look back into her eyes. The smooth tone I was bragging about previously, was now replaced with a husky desperation. She must have caught onto it, cause she was standing up.. and walking toward the treeline. Oh gods.. Swallowing hard, I regained my composure, following after her. It wasn't hard to get what you wanted when you looked the way I did, but damned if it wasn't hard sometimes to keep from becoming the animal you knew was locked inside you. She had no idea what she was getting herself into.
The trees enveloped us, and she was on me faster than I was able to comprehend. I accepted her mouth on mine hungrily, and my hands travelled where they wanted. What followed? Well.. let's just say she likely won't be walking for a little while. But that didn't matter. It wasn't like she was walking out of here at all anyway.
As she lay in the grass, her smile a reflection of how her body felt, I felt the hunger in my stomach shoot out. Those beautiful blues turned black as shadow and my fangs punched out of their hiding place. I traced a finger over her bare sternum to get her attention. When her eyes open lazily, she caught one glimpse of me and that comfort turned to horror. I didn't know if she knew that vampires existed, but either way, there was a hungry one sitting right beside her, and he wasn't going to let her leave.
Using my powers again, I decided to amp up the fear. I wanted to show her how I would make her suffer, but I didn't have the ability. Instead, I just bled fear into her nerves until she was trembling. She went to scream, but I clamped a hand over her mouth. I could hold her down easily enough, even though she started to flail in desperation to get away. I lowered my fangs to her neck and struck hard. After getting a taste, I released and struck again in another place. Tears welled and fell from her eyes, but this was nothing compared to what she was going to endure.
I continued for several minutes, letting the wounds bleed into the grass below her body, while she writhed around knowing she couldn't escape, but not wanting to just sit there and take it. I respected her attempts, but that was about where the admiration ended.
I drug out the death a lot longer than I intended. I just couldn't bare to leave such a beautiful specimen out in the open where she could be found by just anyone. There needed to be such a mess that people would think an animal did it. That being said, I may have gotten a little carried away a few times, and though I wasn't wearing my clothes, the perfect suit still got splashed. Now I'd have to go shopping after this. The thought made me ecstatic; I loved shopping.
Once her body was in as much of a mess as I could leave it, I got up and dressed slowly. That beauty she once had was nowhere left to be found. Such a pity. I turned away from the scene and ventured through the park. Pulling a crimson handkerchief from my blazer pocket, I cleaned my face. Even though I was an animal, there was no reason to cause alarm when it wasn't required. I also cleaned the blood off my chest, before buttoning up the silk fabric. I hung my blazer over my shoulder leisurely making my way downtown, like nothing happened. Like I wasn't a monster.
