For a moment Kato was distracted by the pants that he had been handed, wondering why she had a pair of men's pajama pants and debating if they would actually fit. However, they were the only choice he had aside from walking naked through the city streets or in his rhino form which would be even less acceptable to the supernatural animal control. He slipped on the red and black plaid flannels which were a bit short, coming to a sharp stop just below his knees, and a bit tight around the waist but they would do. The remaining of the salve was easily slipped into one of the pockets. "It's from back home." Kato eyed Edie for a moment skeptically, "However, I think I'm going to keep the exact recipe to myself right now if that's my only insurance right now." It was only wise to not indulge in every whim and want of the sassy woman. He did need to keep some upper hand after all.

It was a bit insulting that Edie questioned his capability at handling himself so decided to indulge her with his few run ins that had resulted in lasting wounds. There had been other times in which he had dealt with Hunters before, but only the other two beyond today had resulted in wounds large enough to leave scars. Although today he escaped that result and for that he had this spitfire of a woman to thank for that. He may hold off a bit on thanking her entirely for that as he was sure it would go to her head. As it was, her rambling on was beginning to become weary and so the only way Kato could see of getting out of it was to take her arm and pull her to him and kiss her. It was a proven method in the past and seemed to be an effective one this time as well.

Kato had taken her by surprise, finally ceasing her rant which was the plan so he finally ended the kiss and questioned her on her habitation. He hardly expected her, given her personality thus far, to not lash out at having been kissed so unexpectedly. However, it would change the subject somewhat at least. He watched her features contort easily into fury and swatted at his chest, which he was sure she could land much harder hits had she truly been upset about the kiss and spat insults as him. It was a good thing Kato was as cheeky as he was or he may have been the type to take Edie's outbursts personally. No, he continued to find amusement in her behavior, perhaps because he had seen her Were form and was still curious at how such a tiny thing could hold so much volatile nature. "But I'm a sexy ass." Kato countered with a chuckle. He was rewarded by Edie willingly curling her hand around his neck and crashing her lips to his in a repeat kiss. Kato's hand released her upper arm to press against the small of her back as his other gripped at her hip, holding her firmly against him as he willingly return this new kiss.

He was sure if things continued and they lingered in this kiss that it would take a turn. Kato wasn't a prude with his views of sleeping with a woman but he could honestly say he didn't usually go around kissing just any that he came across. The need for air was the only factor that caused Kato to break the kiss, though he took a moment longer to release his grip on her hip and step back from her. "Come, I'll show you." His hand took hold of hers and turned about to pull her from the tent and across the clearing to the forest. She would never understand what he was doing with the Hunters without being shown. "Hunters are quicker to chase than they are to shoot. It isn't cheap or easy to make their weapons so they don't like to waste the bullets or arrows...those that have them. The others have close range weapons and they have to get close anyways." Kato never relented his grip on Edie's hand as he led her through the forest and explained just how the hunters operated. He came to a spot on the path where he finally stopped and let go of her hand and nudged her off the path. "Stay there." Kato continued picked his way delicately closer to what looked like a bare path through the forest before he located what he was looking for. He picked up a rock and chucked it at where the thin translucent wire ran across. Immediately the large log lurched from where it was hidden above and came flying down in an arc, sweeping over Kato's head by a few inches clearance before following its trail to swing through the air and connect with a wide trunk of a tree with a vicious crack. The impact caused the impacted tree to tremble and the swinging log to bounce back from it before slowly teetering to a stop. Only once the log was still did Kato step up to it, gripping the rope holding the log suspended and looking over at Edie. "I had it covered."
