West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

The curly-haired woman was used to being growled at. His dark eyes holding furry and accusation only caused her shoulders to slump downwards in an apologetic position. She had forgotten they were holding hands until he simply let hers go and threw it away from his presence. In this manner she was used to nudging her shoulder into his own, a subtle reminder she had done with her own pack mates to try and appease to their social understanding. In her pack, even though she was considered a pariah, she was still a child of the Alphas and her Death could not happen. Tobi was not Alpha and he was not pack, but he was filling some sort of void that had been absent all her life. He had said in the park he would be her friend and she swore she would be a good one, and she hoped that physical touch of her shoulder into his would remind him of that small tether. It was her fear that he would forget and severe their fragile tie all together, and she hoped, once he understood that she had meant well, perhaps all would be forgiven? While she went over to perform just how to use his new bed, she had noticed out of the corner of her eye how he reached for her. A tinge of pink appeared on her cheeks, no one had ever attempted to keep her from harm before and the gesture, although foreign, was appreciated. As soon as she got settled in the hammock and offered the boy not only her hand to help him climb in, but also an attempt to show him an ounce of trust, she watched quietly as he decided to ignore her both her attempts. Yet a small grin appeared when she sat him take a step towards the riser, his hands gingerly touching the nets as her head would move in encouragement and approval. It was when he tumbled in did fear grip her, but not as tightly as his hands around her waist. Her heat began to beat faster, blue-grey eyes widen in shock as his hold on her only got tighter and tighter. Never before had she been clung like this before, and it was not comforting at all, but she would breathe a sigh of relief as soon as he let her go as the hammock steadied.

As the deranged boy began to get settled within his new bed she couldn't help, but sit there with a little bit of pride. It wasn't a feeling she was able to feel all the time, but it was in these small moments when she couldn't help, but feel proud of the kindness she had offered him. As he leaned over the hammock to view more of the space below, she would sit still keeping the hammock upright. His comment about the height only caused her to flash him a shy grin from her scarred face covered from some of her golden curls. Indeed a cat would catch such a simple observation. He was head of security, and why couldn't he look over everything without having a comfortable spot? She would turn her head slightly watching him lay himself down, mimicking what she had done earlier and she couldn't help be silently give him a wide grin. She was happy she could make him happy and now that the surprise was over and done with, she was ready to retire to her own bed. Yet when he spoke his demand, her blue-grey eyes widen as she tilted her head back to him. Biting her lip, her fingers would start to tangle over one another as she weakly muttered.

"I...um...do I have to?"

As her dark eyes narrowed at her form that remained sitting on the hammock, she reluctantly slowly fell backwards. As she lay beside him, her form would brush up against his and she would flinch, trying to not touch him as she got comfortable beside him. Her own head would reach another pillow, which his head was not on, and she would brush her arms against his folding her arms along her chest as she went stiff as a board. She had never laid beside someone before, wolf or human, and it was oddly terrifying and comforting at the same time. The hammock would sway gently with their body weight and the movement of the two stopping, she could hear her heart began to settle and match his breathing as she started to relax, slightly. She would lift her arm, that was not close to his side, upwards as she pointed towards the catwalk, opposite of him was a small ledge that most wouldn't catch if not for the dark blue fabric that hung from it.

"My bed is up there, if you make sure no one gets in it...I will make sure no one gets in yours."

It was a deal she was sure he would approve. It was rather difficult for a human to get to her bed. An animal that could climb on the rail of the catwalk could make the leap towards the hidden ledge. It was a clever space that was not in use before, and she had claimed it as her own. The walls were comforting, like a cave, which was natural for someone like her kind to appreciate it. It was big enough for two to sleep and never would there be two. She was sure that he would look out for her spot, as he looked out for Lucian's warehouse, and she hoped that he would take on the task as well. No one would reach that ledge, and she knew her adobe was safe...but she wanted to make it clear that it was her spot. As he moved his arms behind his head, her own left hand would rub up and down the scars along her right arm, tracing them in an anxious manner. She was enjoying being beside another and she knew it was not right, at least she thought so. Her eyes focused mostly on her scars, tracing them, bringing her some sort of comfort. Hearing his whispered words, her head would tilt upwards as her cheeks turned a deeper shade of pink in embarrassment. That he would see her in a light of approval and mystery was odd. There was nothing about her, that she could see within herself that would allow her to think she was something good. Shaking her head she would mutter her reply.

"No I am not magical, I just...know how to make things. You want something magical?"

That question was whispered just as softly as his. Moving upwards from his side, she would place her hand down her shirt to pick out the titanium chained pocket watch that had belonged to her pack. It was a trinket, a sign, that both Alphas wore. The face of the watch held the etched figure of a snarling wolf, and she would hold the pocket watch out towards him to see. Clicking the top the pocket watch would open to reveal the pale face of the watch, but she would click the top once more and the face would fold over revealing a small blue light as a soft whirl could be heard coming from the device. Suddenly the blue light would crackle as a small little volt of electricity would hop back and forth. Long nimble fingers would snap both faces of the pocket watch, and it would close. A small grin appeared on her pink lips as her other hand grabbed the titanium chain taking the pocket watch off. For a moment she would stare at the piece, her thumb tracing over the etched snarling wolf. She knew, in the back of her mind from stuffed tradition that she was not allowed to own it. Only those of better and stronger blood were allowed and she felt foolish for attempting to save the small trinkets from her pack. Bringing back the objects wouldn't bring back anyone and it surely wouldn't bring back any fond memories. Looking back at Tobi, she would extend the pocket watch to him, giving him a shy grin.

"In my pack, I wasn't allowed to have it, only Alphas were, but you can have it."

Was she saying that Tobi was her Alpha? No. In her mind she had done nothing to show that she belonged to him or that she was supposed to follow his orders...even though she already did. For her, she did not submit to him in her mind. Truly the girl had been kind to the spotted King. Perhaps this could be a secret he could keep- the magical pocket watch. Sure, everyone else would find it nothing more than a useless outdated trinket to catch the time, but maybe he would find something magical about it. After all, he assumed she was magical.
