West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

He is aware entirely of that blush that so seemed to creep upon his Beta's features, flushing across her cheeks as she struggled to clamour away from him just after she had woken, the girl having drifted in her sleep to very near cling to him and yet the stallion had made little effort to move her. What did it matter? Affection in any true sense was unusual to him and yet there was a simplicity of sorts afforded to such actions when the woman was asleep, a relaxation he found within her embrace if only because of the innocence of it. Frost hardly caring to disturb her when it did not bother him in turn. She needed the sleep, she would be better for it and it is that benefit alone he cares to exact. He rolls easily away from her, offering no comment upon her desperate efforts to hide that flush, some part of the man finding something almost.......endearing in it, in an odd sense before he moves to dismiss the entire notion of such frivolous stupid thoughts- moving to his own bags to ready himself for the evening. Frost hardly caring for what sight it might offer Edie in that moment as he shrugged that white shirt into place before moving to hand her the box she had requested of him. He turns readily from her once more, beginning to button up that white shirt, a small nod approval given to her words of compliment at his own appearance before that audible gasp so sees his gaze slice hurriedly back to her own form. It was outside his nature to give gifts any time other than Christmas or birthdays and even then his ability to celebrate was perhaps a limited thing. Frost hardly inclined to the jovial nature that holidays seemed to require. Yet the stallion had still placed some measure of effort into this acquisition, the man momentarily assured the woman must have hated his choice if that was the sound she was so keen to make- his own features frowning now before her words met his ears.

"That is why I chose it."

He uttered simply, those cool, frosted words entirely true. Oh all he knew about his own companion her eye colour had hardly failed to escape him, that very necklace having drawn his attention if only for that very reason alone. Frost allowing that ghost of a simper to trace his features once he had turned from her once more, the man making some effort to finish getting ready before he turned in place, his gaze momentarily resting upon the slender figure of the woman as she readied herself. The man momentarily given to note her form before he moved to avert his gaze and fixate upon those more prominent tasks. It is only when the woman speaks once more that the equine returns his attention to her, the dress she had refused to allow him to see fitting snugly to her form, one eye lifting in momentary....surprise at just how well the outfit seemed to compliment her. The man moving to arrange his expression to something decidedly neutral once more.

"You very much look the part. It suits you."

His words once more remained entirely truthful, Frost nodding as Edie returned to the bathroom, the stallion finishing his own outfit, tucking that deck of cards into his pocket along with his phone, wallet and several other items, one hand running loosely through the stark white of his hair in contemplation of several more facets of this elaborate plan before the vixen returned. That addition of hair and makeup only further adding to her overall appeal, the faintest of smiles daring to touch his lips before the man moved to look away, taking that necklace from her as she turned her back to him. It is with a surprising gentleness that the equine so moves to drape that necklace about her neck, fastening it neatly at the back before stepping away. Satisfied with his choice. Edie's sudden command to get his cards sees one eye lift upward.

"Is that a commanding tone you're using with me?"

A soft chuckle hums somewhere within the depths of his throat, his words teasing, at least for now. Frost plucking that deck of cards from his pocket, holdings his hands before Edies camera before beginning to shuffle, allowing his affinity to extend over them as he did before drawing several, holding them up as he would at any card table. It is only then that he allows several of the cards to shift, his magic washing over them, concealing their true numbers.

"Show me the recording."

It appeared, at least to him, that from the back the cards looked utterly unchanged even on film- his magic clearly not visible to the naked eye in any sense. The man, this time, crafting a falsified poker-chip, allowing it to fall from mid-air as Edie filmed once more. Frost allowed it to run across his fingers before having it vanish near instantly yet again before moving to step beside Edie and watch that playback.

"The illusions show and yet when we slow the camera down you can see it appear from thin air. That, if anything, will be our downfall. The cameras will see what everyone else in the room sees- that is whatever I want them too, but if anyone should find themselves of a mind to phrase and frames, to rewind or to slow down any recordings they take of us tonight it is possible they might a flaw. My illusions must appear from somewhere after all and if the camera is facing any cards that will also be a problem. We must seat you strategically then. Come. Let us have a test run in the field. I have a plan."

One arm is offered easily to the woman then, Frost moving to lead her from the room and out into that hallway, the elevator bringing them easily down into the lobby before the equine makes an easy left, stepping into that bustling casino. It is almost overwhelming to his own sensitive ears, a frown touching his features at the sheer weight of minds pressing upon him, thoughts blurring in and about in all directions. Frost never before having so attempted to utilise his power in a room this full. He remains content all the same to lead his Beta towards those lower stakes tables, Frost pausing just before they approach the first, saw drawing Edie against him as any couple surely would.

"That table there, with the two men and one woman is the one we will try first. Your job is simple, charm them, distract them, flirt with them if you have too- keep their attention on you and not me and position yourself out of direct line of any camera. I will tell you what moves to make and if need be I will make sure your cards are right. We should be able to do this without any real need for my tricks beyond mind reading. Remember you only need to think and I can here you. Now why don't you introduce us? After all, you've played a few games before and I, your very doting boyfriend am having my first Vegas experience and you want to show me what you can do."

It was perhaps the simplest of stories and yet one that afforded reason as to why Edie played rather then himself and one too that so gave him every reason to linger about the table and the woman herself, that young, annoying couple so entirely in love it was almost sickening. Frost entirely content to be just that- so gesturing for Edie to take the lead now.
