West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Edge of the Circle

Cull & Pistol

Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Bartender Raylin Chike

Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar. Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

I've forgotten how it felt before...

It had ever been my way before the catastrophe of life had intervened to be forward. Sometimes I took it upon myself to do things just to watch the reaction of others. I remember the way the Dark Hunter had responded to my light flirtations and my overwhelming personality to sell, how he had flustered and it had given me the opportunity to slip away. He had been prepared, perhaps, to see me falter and cringe back from him. In truth I had been fearful that day but my courage had won out. I wonder now if I would respond differently. The world had become a darker place to me and the threat more real. My suspicion of others had grown tenfold and my desire to find the source of my parents death a sort of waking obsession. Or nightmare, it could be considered both.

But Dareios was exempt from such suspicious thinking. At times I remember my parents calling me naive, fondly of course. I tended to trust rather implicitly those who I made acquaintances yet as I throw my arms around his neck it proves to him, and myself, that I feel no ounce of fear for him anymore. Instinct is what drives the supernatural but it is when they overcame the instinct that they truly became something stronger. Besides, Dareios was now mayor, as in he had to tamp down all unbidden desires that might cast the public's eye upon him unfavorably.

I smile into his shoulder at his laugh, my lingering tension easing at the sound. It is nice to find comfort in familiar people after so much had been lost. He was cold to the touch and his suit felt as if he had just brought it out from the closet but it didn't bother me. It was just a simple fact about vampires and besides, warmth was overrated.

I half expect him to yank his hands from mine. Before I had kept distance between us, my wariness after Frost's attack having driven me to a more suspicious nature, but the last few months of being shut off from the world, of feeling incredibly alone, have made me more eager to accept the friends I do have. I had been so stuck on growing my business, throwing my all into it, that I had not truly cultivated relationships before. Merely business partners and acquaintances with work always between us. What I wanted now was more from all those around me and I would do what was necessary to obtain that sense of peace.

He touches my jaw and I smile gently at him, allowing his cold fingers to brush against my skin, finding a sort of dam within me broken by his kindness. It seemed kindness was one of those things that could both heal and hurt. It reminded the person of what they lost and needed but also of hope. "I am just glad to have run into you," I say warmly, my gaze turning in the direction of his at the sound. Just a cat, but it has my senses sharpened and my power ready should I need it.

"I was going to the train station to catch a ride back to the east. I've rented out a small shop there," I said, although my own smile turns sheepish at the next bit. "I've been staying there for now as well." One had to make do with what one had, I assured myself inwardly. "Certainly!" I turn and head back down the alleyways, my steps scuffing the ground now. I've no need to hide myself in silence when Dareios was with me. He was a powerful vampire and could likely sense much more than I could anyways. The two of us could make it out of the west without any trouble.

"So how do you like being a Mayor? I'll admit, I didn't think it was something that interested you." Which was also saying I didn't know him as well as I thought and I decided I would remedy that situation quickly. Plus the world of politics was an almost fascinating one from an outsider. Back stabbing and passive aggressive acquaintances, the kind of world that I had left when I decide to not take the vows of my parents Coven.
