West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Black Market

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.

Edge of the Circle

Cull & Pistol

Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Bartender Raylin Chike

Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar. Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

don't think twice, it's alright

He feels the way her breath hitches only because it's so close, feels the way her fingers twitch but doesn't know the game well enough to know what it means. He's never had to read people that way, never needed to defend himself in a dark alley. Lukas is an accidental student who's tripped himself into the deep end; he's found himself a shark, but at least she seemed to have scruples.

Even if she is completely mad, holding knives to stranger's throats, speaking of vampires.

Admittedly, it feels a whole lot better having her stand before him, even if he has the uncomfortable sense that she could win any sort of tussle it came to - save maybe arm wrestling. How surprised he would be, even now, even with the memory of her knife at his throat a fresh enough thing to make his pulse leap, to know she was thinking of his death. The comfortable ignorance of a young white male, however momentarily strapped for cash and direction, made a remarkable armor.

Hungry? she repeats, and the image of a panther springs to mind, unbidden. The way she speaks, the way she looks at him, makes him think of a cat. A big one, with big teeth and bigger claws. But his lips quirk in a quick smile, anyway, and he tugs at the lapel of his coat as if to straighten it. "Educated guess. Who isn't hungry at 2 a.m.?" Even vampires were.

He's smart enough to think he should run when she steps nearer, his sleepy mind screaming at him not to let her within knife range again. Instead he widens his stance and holds his ground, watching her face, not sure what he's searching for there. He can feel his heart racing like a girl's at a first kiss, another warning from his body, and when her words come they're so on the mark he laughs. "Definitely foolish." Unlike hers, his voice rings out too loudly against the shipping crates and cold concrete buildings, another sign he doesn't belong anywhere near this world.

His head inclines at her request and he wonders if maybe it would be wise not to remind her just how helpless he is here.

...Nah. He was in over his head; might as well keep swimming. There might be something interesting on the bottom.

"Ah, see, there's the trouble. I'm new, and lost, which is why I was trying to ask you for directions." He cleared his throat and straightened his shoulders before meeting her gaze, one eyebrow arched. "Not to say there won't be people looking for me, you know, if you get any more knife ideas." It's the first lie he's told tonight; anyone who'd ever cared about him was a thousand miles away. He didn't think even the company he was renting from would care enough to come after him if he never paid the next month's rent; they already had a month and a security deposit.

More than anything else, thoughts of the responsibilities - and lack of opportunities - waiting for him on the other side of the city began to bleed out the adrenaline that had been buoying him. All he had to his name was an apartment that hopefully was no longer roach-infected, and maybe that's why he hitched a thumb back the direction he'd come. "All that to say, the last diner I saw was a mile back that way."
