The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.
Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.
Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

Was she royalty? Was she descended from some great and historic heritage of beings or fae that the world might have known from days lost long ago to the ever-churning tide of time? The answer to that was simple, really. She wasn't. While her parents had lived nearly like they were of some noble bloodline, carrying some distant family name that would be easily noticed and regarded by others who were truly born of such a thing, they'd been nothing more than wealthy fae living in the outskirts of London. In truth, if she were to have ever been tied to some well-known figure from centuries ago, it would have hardly made any sort of differe to the far woman. She grew up knowing nothing more than wealth and class even without an historic and noble name to place her there, and it was an easy mistake to think that Vitani was more than just some fae borne to two fae parents with more money than they needed that easily entitled them to that high class status all on its own. And, OF course, the fae woman had thoroughly enjoyed all that came with such a lifestyle. Maids and butlers to serve her even as a child living in that mansion belonging to her mother and father, anything and everything - at least, during a time in her life where what she wanted was more material - she could ever desire to be no further from her reach than a single word or gesture away, it had been lavish and effortless for her from the very beginning. So, naturally she would have an affinity for the power of wealth so young and only when she grew into the beautiful young woman that she was to become as she entered into womanhood later on did she come to see exactly how much more of it she could obtain. She'd learned quickly that so many men were weak against her grace and beauty, the way she could flutter dark lashes over pale peridot eyes and afford them a sweet - or sultry - smile that could have them nearly tripping over themselves just so that they might win her affections... it was almost endearing to the fae woman. She knew of the darker magics her kind were capable of. She'd heard stories in passing during those balls and garden parties she had attended on a rather frequent if not routine basis, the presence of either her parents or herself later on almost expected in some sense. Not everyone who'd been at those gatherings held by the rich and high class had been as privileged as Vitani to have been borne fae. There had been a handful of insignificant faces she had come across whose beginnings were much more gruesome and entirely torturous given what it took to become instead of being born into a life of immortality, fae children being decided rare as it was. She hardly cared to pay any mind to the details of those dark pasts those unfortunate souls had been willing to share, many being filled with resentment rather than gratefulness or whatever else one might feel at getting a second chance to live a life they otherwise might never have gotten to. She couldn't care less either way how it was that they'd felt, such a true feeling beyond Vitani's genuine abilities, and so she dismissed those turned fae just as she did any other who did not capture her fickle interest. She also knew that many of her kind wielded special talents. Her own hadn't become apparent to her until later on, when she had encountered a young fae man she'd been... interested in. It has been when they'd been young and reckless, still not yet crossed over the threshold and into adulthood with hormones magnified as he sought to impress her. He'd boasted about how he could read the minds of any he so desired, betting eagerly that he could look into Vitani's thoughts to find the figurative golden ticket that would give him the upper hand in becoming the one to earn her favor. She'd accepted this challenge of his mostly out of a mild chance at entertainment, deciding to see if just maybe she could trick him with false thoughts. Yet, when he'd looked into those daring pale green eyes, she hadn't missed for second the confusion and surprise that flickered across his features. That had been the day she discovered her own unique talent. It was this very memory spurred by Braxton's own brief expression of intrigue that sparked that even briefer amusement in the fae woman dressed in that black silk dress and matching gloves that veiled a majority of her forearms. It seemed he was not used to finding another that could easily defy him and his own unseen gift he had surely used to his own advantage as she did hers in seamless harmony with her capability to appear as she might desire to in order to take whatever it was she was looking for. She allows this amusement to pass as quickly as it had come though, watching the shadows casts across his gaze for the faintest of moments at what could only be a memory. Perhaps even one of a less tasteful or desired nature if she were to try and guess. She leaves him to it though, having no interest for the time being in whatever might have been the catalyst to that slight shift in the man before her. That near blatant lie falls easily from his lips then and she affords him a coy smile."And a rather unpleasant one it must have been", she remarks just as easily, lilted words almost knowing though she says nothing more, merely watching as he tossed that used cigarette onto the way pavement and crushed it beneath his boot, silent only for a fleeting moment before he turns his attention back to the fae woman and easily accepts her offer. How pleasing it was that he hardly needed further encouragement."This way, if you please", she purrs to him before turning on those perfect black stiletto heels and walks back over to the parked limousine, each step graceful and near flawless as though she were walking on air, womanly hips swaying effortlessly, entirely aware of Braxton's presence just behind her. Fredrick is quick to climb out of the idling Lincoln Continental to open her door. She is the first to slide in, Braxton quick to do the same before Fredrick closes the door and returns to the driver seat. Quick to settle in, gesturing a slender hand to the bucket containing ice and a bottle of champagne before she turns to look through the divider to see Fredrick looking through the rearview in that patient expectancy for further direction."Home, Fredrick", she directs the man then and he gives her a nod of understanding before they are off and heading towards Acosta Heights. She'd had enough of this poor part of the city, feeling more and more filthy the longer they lingered there among those abandoned building and drug-ridden streets. Pale peridot eyes turn back to the fae man beside her now as the vehicle is set in motion, regarding for a moment to see if he decided to help himself to the champagne and if he might have enough manners to pour her a flute of the sparkling golden drink."So. Braxton. Have you resided within Sacrosanct long?", the fae woman asks almost absent-mindedly as she runs a hand through her platinum blonde hair cascading elegantly over her shoulder, one slender leg crossed over the other in a picture of perfect poise and lavish comfort as she waits for whatever answer the man would have for her. Though she hardly cared for small talk, this was an instance where such things were almost nessecary to try and discover the true value of this possible diamond in the rough she might have happened across this morning. |
