West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Edge of the Circle

Cull & Pistol

Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.

Bartender Raylin Chike

Noah's Ark

Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar. Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

TRYING NOT TO WASTE MY TIME

If you asked Benjamin if he had ever been nervous, he would respond with a resounding no because Benji has an interesting habit of feeling and displaying his nervous nature by being entirely calm, stoic even, like a statue made from the thickest of stone. That was how he had been on his first day of kindergarten. The first few years of his life, Benjamin had hardly left his mother's side, following her to work, to stores, to appointments. His mother hadn't been able to afford day care of a babysitter. Luckily, the year he turned five, his mother didn't have to worry about that anymore, she had free child care: kindergarten.

The memory is there, but barely, and Benjamin sometimes cant sort through the fabricated memories or the real ones about that first day. His mother had awoken him quite early that day and she had brushed his hair more intensely, trying with all her might to get those dark locks to lay flat, but they just never seemed to, despite many of the methods she tried. Benjamin had been able to get his own clothes picked out because they had gone shopping a few weeks earlier and he had been instructed he could not wear these clothes until his first day of school. It was a white t shirt with black lines all over it, a red and black flannel. Tied together of course with a mini pair of skinny jeans and brand new black converse his mom had gotten him. He threw on a black beanie to top the outfit off, his mother hoping it would cover up his disaster hair.

She packed him a lunch (how lucky it was all his favorite foods, even a knock-off hostess cupcake!) in a box that had Spiderman and his webs all over it. He slipped his small, skinny arms through his still-too-big backpack and they began to walk down the road. She had taken him to school, walked him to the door, holding his tiny five-year-old hand in hers. The whole way she talks to him about school, what he would do, how much he would have, and such, but Benjamin isn't listening to her, he's too busy staring at the giant (well, what seems to be giant) building ahead of him. They walk inside the doors and down the long hall where children, all around Benji's age scamper about, hugging parents, admiring their new school supplies. Benjamin's eyes are wide with curiosity and alight with a fiery interest. But all of that fades away as his mom bends down and hugs him tightly, telling him she would see him in a few hours and to be good. Benjamin is in such shock that he cant say anything back to her, he just watches with that firestorm in his eyes as she turns around and and makes her way out the building, away from him.

She said she would never leave him.
And she left him.

Of course Elain doesn't get mad at him for being late, Benjamin inwardly rolls his eyes. This girl seemed impossible to make angry, and really it only made him feel more guilty that she wasn't upset with him. Benji watches as she greets Des. And he almost smiles watching the two interact. The puppy joyful wags her tail, unable to control the appendage it seemed by the sheer excitement at seeing Elain. Benjamin pats her on the head in an attempt to get her to calm down.

She laughs when he tells her that she ought to have worn warmer clothes, Benjamin furrows his brow for just a moment. Maybe this was the part where Benjamin was supposed to be a gentleman and to offer her his jacket, but he doesn't. Not because he was intent on making Elain cold or because he cared more for his own needs than for her, but because is not a natural born gentleman and he doesn't think of these things. Maybe he would eventually, but for now he simply shakes his head playfully at her.

On the outside, he doesn't show anything, but inside, Benji is relieved she doesn't mind that he forgot to bring cups for some hot cocoa. In fact, it seemed that it wouldnt have even crossed her mind to be upset with him. Benjamin stares at her curiously for a second before throwing his arm around her shoulders and bringing his voice to a whisper as he looks at her, his eyes a raging firestorm. "Well you should be worried," he says almost dangerously before removing his arm from her shoulder and beginning to head into the warehouse. "Because I am full of cooties."

He holds her hand as he helps her up, enjoying the delicate way her hand folds around his, almost as if they fit perfectly in one another's grasp, though Benjamin doesn't let his mind dwell on this as he helps her the rest of the way up. He breathes a single chuckle as her playful words float gracefully across rosey lips. "Oh you know, back in the day," he says, recalling times back when he and his friends would bust into abandoned houses and try to see who would be overcome with fear first and ditch out. As to her saying thank you for inviting her along, the boy with dark locks merely shrugs before looking at her once more. "I don't think I'd want to be here with anyone else." And his voice is smooth, like honey dripping off a spoon into a cup of tea. He then angles his eyes upwards. "Oh look, the shadow is starting to pass over," but he cant seem to keep his eyes off of Elain. "Looks like it's gonna get dark," he says and his lips twitch with an almost smile as a flirty aftertaste leaves his mouth. Finally, he peels his eyes away from her...but still, he cant help stealing glances every so often as the shadow on the moon grows ever darker.
