The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Just like any city - Sacrosanct is not without it's deep, dark underbelly. Hidden in the graffiti-ridden streets of the West, behind closed warehouse doors, lies the Black Market. Forever moving, it's nearly impossible to find without knowing someone who knows someone. Anything you desire can be brought for a hefty price within the Black Market - be it drugs, weapons, or lives.
Hidden within the dark alleyways of the Western Ward, Cull & Pistol is a dim, often smoky bar. With a small variety of bottled and craft beers, Cull & Pistol is a quaint little neighborhood joint. With its no-frills moto, the dingy bar offers little more than liquor, music from an old jukebox, and a few frequently occupied pool tables.
Bartender Raylin Chike
Resting upon the harbor, Noah's Ark (known simply as The Ark) is a sleek superyacht known both for its fight rings and recent...renovations, of sorts. Accessible from an entrance hidden in the shadows, The Ark is a veritable Were-playground that specializes in fighting tournaments for all creatures great and small. With both singles and doubles tournaments to compete in, the title of Ark Champion is hotly contested amongst the Were population. If anything illegal is going on in the city it's sure to be happening within the back rooms or behind the ring-side bar.
Note: This is a Were only establishment. All other species will be swiftly escorted out.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

She could already see the skepticism on his face when she said that the photos were personal and had nothing to do with the Council. She knew that was different now, but it had taken Viktor a decade to find her and he hadn't even made a move on the Council yet. For now, he was just after her. That told her that as long as she stayed alive, he wouldn't make a move on the Council. He had a one track mind. Finally he gave a grunt and she couldn't help but smirk a little as she looked away so he wouldn't see. Smart man. Someone must have taught him when not to argue. She glanced again toward him in curiosity. Was he dating someone? It wasn't like they ever talked personal life. The only reason he knew about her and Kohl was because they were both Hunters so the Council kept personal records on them, including any intimate relationships. It wasn't all about business with the Council. They had to stick their noses in the business of who you're kissing too. They would probably have a file on it if Azrael was dating someone. She just was never curious enough to look at his file. She had never met this Michael character before but he looked the part of an every day loyal Hunter for the Council. She hadn't been into the office in a while so it was very likely that he'd come into town during that time. Still, she was suspicious of everything and everyone right now with the Viktor situation going on so she glanced once more over her shoulder before disappearing into the house. The minute she was inside the door, she almost regretted coming here with Azrael. Too many memories hit her all at once of all the times she was here with Kohl. She breathed in and could swear she still smelled hints of him in the air, even though he probably hadn't been here in weeks. Azrael looked surprised as hell as he looked around. She quirked a brow as she looked at him. Was he expecting Kohl to live in a dump? She was sure he knew from Kohl's file that he owned a company of his own besides his work with the Council so it was obvious he had money so why not a nice place and a maid to keep it clean? It made perfect sense to her, though even she knew Kohl always took things a bit further with his OCD tendencies. When she mentioned Kohl's dislike of cracks, she swore she could see the wheels turning in Azrael's head as she he searched the floor as if trying to prove her wrong. She only smirked and went about searching the room, waiting for it to hit him that she was right after all. Then he asked about the sidewalks outside and she laughed out loud, thinking about the first time she'd seen him walking on the sidewalk when he explained his OCD and distaste of cracks. "It's quite the sight to see. He takes a car mostly everywhere." She continued looking around before the lights started switching on. It made sense that he had a timer set up to make it look like he was home. It only made her crave him that much more, just the little things like him being smart enough to make someone think he was still home all this time. When she joked about telling Kohl Azrael had complimented him, he fixed her with a glare and she laughed at his expression before her own eyes narrowed back in challenge. "Guess you'd better watch your own step then." The corner of her lip twitched with humor. As they made it to the study, she tried to avoid the desk since she remembered all too well what had been on it the last time she was here. The letter that contained the pictures that had pushed her away from the only person she ever truly cared about. He asked what went there and she told him the laptop before he admitted that he thought it'd be something else. She raised a brow, clearly curious. "Like what? Do tell." She encouraged with a thoughtful scowl, truly interested in what ideas he had. Then she went into the bedroom to search and was hit with all these emotions as she looked through drawers that used to hold their life together. His were strangely empty now while hers were still fluffed and full, like they were just waiting on her to come back. She strained to keep her emotions in check and when Azrael cleared his throat somewhere behind her, she sniffed and continued searching as if she hadn't stopped to daydream for a minute. He said he would contact KohlTech and see about the travel agent and asked about a PA. She nodded. "I'm sure he does. I never really asked about his business." Maybe she should have been more involved but at the time, all she could think about was the hunting and keeping the city safe. Had she really been so self absorbed? Maybe she would make an effort to be involved in what he did once she found him. When she found him. She had to be positive. She couldn't imagine the alternative. He said it sounded like Kohl was in France and she nodded again. She remembered they'd gone to Paris to stay with his friends. He assured her that they would find him first and reminded her that he couldn't lie. That coaxed a smirk from her lips as she turned to glance at him. "I know." She wanted him to know that she did appreciate it. He didn't have to come help her here and he certainly didn't have to try to make her feel better. Maybe Azrael wasn't really all that bad. She stepped back from the bed as Azrael assured her they'd found all they were going to find here. She nodded in agreement, her gaze drifting to the floor since she didn't want to look at anything else personal for a minute. He even offered to hold off on letting the Council know about Viktor and she looked up and shook her head. "No, you don't have to do that. I appreciate it but they should know what he's planning so they can prepare. Anything that'll help them build a plan against him and keep Kohl safe." He told her that Alex should know and she nodded. She didn't know a lot about the guy besides that he was a fierce fighter and he was thousands of years old. The guy was ancient, but he still had the looks and the brains. He was a formidable ally. "I'll talk to him." She assured Azrael. He asked if she was staying her and she quickly shook her head. No, that would make it too easy for Viktor to bust in and try to make his move. Then he would know Kohl's not here. Plus she didn't want to be surrounded by all the memories and his smell. It was all too much. She shook her head again when he asked if she needed a lift. "No, but thank you. I'll check in." She knew he only meant it for her safety. If she failed to check in, he would immediately alert the Council. It was all part of the protocol in this kind of situation. She stepped toward the door and turned back to glance at him, trying a small smile. "Thanks, Azrael." Then she turned and jogged down the steps and took off down the sidewalk before he could push to give her a ride. She wanted to run. She needed it, to clear her lungs and her mind. |
