West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Wake up to your dreams
And watch them come true

Nadya had learned long ago how to recognize when someone had true talent. She had found that in her dancers for the burlesque and now saw that special spark in certain children that came to her studio. That very spark existed in the petite girl that danced with such raw emotion before collapsing to the floor. It would have been an injustice to interrupt the girl before she was done with her dance. As the girl caught her breath, Nadya softly let her presence be known so as to not startle the child too much. The young woman's gaze swept the girl as she hurried to pull on a dress over her ballet outfit. The slightly pointed ears were a dead giveaway to the child's fae species and equally indicative on where such grace came from. All the dancers in her burlesque had been fae for that very allure they could draw.

It wasn't often you saw or even heard about a fae child. Her twin's preschool had only 2 out of the hundred students. It was only natural then for Nadya to ask after any adult watching out for the girl. Out of all the answers, her brother's name and Tobi leaving the child's lips would have never been on her list of possibilities. When the shock left her a curious brow lifted. Seems her brother was more keen on children not of his blood. Nadya didn't have time to comment before a familiar face left the shadows at the other end of the room nearer to the girl. Color her surprised again. Nadya nodded in acknowledgement to Roman with a gentle smile, "I see you've been making friends." Last she had seen the man he had been tucking himself away from others in Isolt's restaurant. "I'd be careful of letting her wander the Ark though, it's not a place for children...there's enough violence in the world without making a sport out of it for them to watch." It was her only cautionary tale on the topic.

Nadya's gaze slid back down to Maeve as she wandered closer to her, reaching her hand out in proper introduction. "Yes, my name is Nadya. It's a pleasure to meet you Maeve." She shifted her bags to the other hand to shake the child's hand. "I do dance, well, I did a lot more a while ago. I mostly teach dance now." And then Maeve was just as quickly back to Roman's side. It wasn't too long ago that Roman was new and alone in this city and now it was quite obvious that he had found himself a charge. Nadya knew how quickly children could attach and bond to someone so didn't question it. Roman appeared a happy participant anyways. "Well," Nadya glanced around at the rundown room they stood in, "I don't think anyone owns this place so you can't get in trouble for being in here. However, I don't think it does your talent any justice."

"You should bring her to my studio sometime, Roman. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:45 is her age group ballet class. She can meet the other kids and try it out." It only took a moment for Nadya to make the decision, easily offering Maeve a place in her class. Her attention shifted to Maeve, "That is, if you want to. You'll have to work hard but I know you can do it."
