We were chasing the thunder inside the storm;
The ark felt entirely too uncharacteristically serene, like a lull washed through that ship and barely a soul stirred. It would seem everyone was out and about. It was a nice change of pace, but she had grown used to the daily bustle that moments like this almost seemed... empty. She could hear every creek, groan, and far off distant sound of clanging of metal on metal that seemed to resonate eerily through her. Those very sounds had become something of comfort to the woman and yet today, it seemed to leave her a little on edge, the she-wolf hardly understanding why in the least. That unsettled feeling hardly dwindled while she padded outside of her room, closing the door behind her with a few items in tow, well equipped to going out, she wore her well-worn leather jacket, leather boots, and fitted dark hued jeans. She was fully intending to leave the ship lose herself to the sweet comfort of cove once more. It was one of her favourite places to be, where she was able to unleash her powers without worry for harming anyone, or losing control or taking out the whole damn forest. She had grown quite adept in honing them and there was a certain release she got when she allowed herself to give into her affinity. It was when she strode across the ship into the common area that she had realized she was not alone. Raven came into view, however, something about her seemed off.. distant, not her usual purpose-filled self.
"Hey Raven.." she called out, seeing the woman pacing, a strange state to find the curly-haired woman. The curly haired woman hardly seemed to notice her voice, so she drew a little closer, that anxiety billowing off the clearly troubled woman was alarming, to say the least. She immediately looked around as if sensing some kind of impending danger, wondering what kind of catastrophe could be amiss them now. Yet nothing seemed to be out of sorts. How entirely uncharacteristic. It caused Mira's features to tug into a thorough frown, her golden eyes curiously observing the other she-wolf.
"Earth to Raven Cain... do you copy?" She tried a teasing, lighthearted approach, lifting her hand into a loose wave, a hesitant yet curious gesture. She drew closer still, the woman was just outside one of her usual haunts, the kitchen but normally she was deep within the confines of her sanctuary or Tobi. The she-wolf thought without a hint of a doubt that using her married name would have captured her attention, yet still to no avail. That wedding still freshly danced within her mind, seeing those two smile at each other, was one of the most genuine things she had ever seen. How nice it was to see the two defy all odds and simply let love win out for once. Love.. what a foolish notion, she was hardly one to truly believe in such a thing, but those two, they had it. She was sure of it. How often did love fail? In which case, was it truly love to begin with? Yet if anyone deserved to find happiness it was those two. Yet love hardly seemed to be what was plaguing Raven now... right?
She drew up closer still, sliding in front of the clearly stressed woman's eager pacing to interrupt her, concern within her golden molten eyes. Something was evidently wrong if the other she-wolf was clearly this distraught, but what? Raven had never confided in her before, she was sure that now would be no different and yet she couldn't just leave her packmate like this. Clearly, something must have happened, but each line to every pack member seemed secured in place.
Even that strangely frayed one from the volatile new-changed woman that she had the....pleasure of meeting a week ago. She had never had so many things launched at her head in all her life and the fire of that woman seemed to rival the destructive lava Mira wielded. "Raven, what's going on? Come on, spill.. I've never seen you this upset before. Tobi and Tetra... are they ok? Are you ok?" She could hardly help that hint of concern that entered her very words. Did she hear something that Mira did not? How that pack bond seemed to infect her more than she realized, finding herself thinking of them, continuously making subconscious headcounts to make sure everyone was alright, like a newfound reflex. This is what a true pack felt like, perhaps.
Mira made no move to back down, not leaving until Raven spilled what was on her mind all whilst being patient enough to allow her to do so in her own time.
I'd rather be dangerous;
