She was a touch concerned that he might not be so pleased at her answer regarding the secret he so wished to hear, the loophole she had found in his line of questioning a stroke of pure luck. Still as his dark eyes turned to meet hers again, his head tilted in an almost innocent fashion as he evaluated that answer. His reply however seemed to imply he agreed with her decision, even if he might not have been pleased with it. Naming her as secret keeper to their boss seemed a step in the right direction and she wondered if it would get back to the man and what he might think about it.
However after stating it to be so he seemed content to move on from the topic as she offered that revelation about what was her one fear, despite the irrationality of it. He seemed rather surprised, with what she could only assume was some confusion on exactly what could be so terrifying about it. Of course, she didn't expect his request that she clarify if it was the thunder from the sky that so terrified her. "Yes, like the kind that comes with the rain. I just... can't stand the sound of it." Her shoulders shrugged gently at it, no matter how hard she had tried to overcome the fear she could never shake it. So she had stopped trying, and instead just hunkered down in the darkest corner of her apartment with music blaring until it passed.
Those hidden cookies seemed like a good distraction from the topic however as she fished them out from their hiding spot under the bar. It was interesting interacting with one of her own type within their species. They were so often loaners she hadn't ever met another before him. His comment on liking her accent was a surprise though as she slid the cookies down the bar between the two, cracking it open and grabbing one for herself. She tried her best to explain why she spoke the way she did without going into too much detail, but it only seemed to further his curiosity of where exactly she came from. "Georgia, the peach state." She said it with a touch of mirth, more than might have been necessary but she wasn't fond of her past... even the more recent parts of it.
She watched as he repositioned, perhaps the temptation of those cookies enough to overcome the pleasure of lounging on the bar top. A small win, but miles to go she knew as he peered into the bag to see what it had to offer. "And what about you, Tobias? Where do you come from?" She didn't know much about her coworkers personal lives and this might be a chance to learn more about the man if he was willing. She watched as he delved into the bag, claiming his own morsel to crunch with satisfaction. After a moment he purred her name again, prompting her hazel eyes to return to him as he posed the question about who she liked best, unexpected as that was. "I like you all, of course. Though, Raven has been the most helpful with the new job." She smiled lightly, for a time not thinking she would ever be in a place to have friends at work and be so near normal.
His next question however was sudden and rather unexpected, not sure where exactly he was getting it from. She titled her head slightly as she sized him up trying to see what he was looking for but as she might have expected he was vey hard to read. "I don't dislike them, but I've maybe only ever met a handful and none of them long enough to know them, must less dislike them." She leveled him with a curious gaze. "Why do you ask? She wondered how much of an answer he would give.
