West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

It would be my luck that every were creature I seem to meet is a predator bigger and stronger than me. Tobi is a leopard and Raven is a wolf. Nadya is a jaguar and all thsoe other animals in the clearing were wolves and bigger predators. It just seems to be my luck. I can tell that she's a were and from her easy confidence, I would guess she's a predator too but while Tobi is open and obvious about it, trying to bully and command, she seems more laid back and level headed. Of course that could all be a farce. A mask to hide the true predator. I've always been the gullible one to give someone the benefit of the doubt though so I decide to give her a smile and see where it goes.

When she extends her hand, I lean up to take it, my grip not so firm as others but I'm at least trying. As she moves to make room on the bench, I get up and take a seat beside her, though not close enough to make myself uncomfortable. I still don't know what she is, after all. I take another look at the woman's features. So exotic, so unusual around these parts. You can tell she's not from around here, or at least, her lineage isn't. Beautiful, though. I feel the green threads of envy already. She tells me that she's not a wolf but not a fox like me either. I raise my brows in curiosity.

I want to ask what she is but something tells me she's not going to give me a straight answer to that. She does talk differently but maybe it's just an accent. She starts speaking then, talking about the city and the people in it. I tilt my head. Slither? Finally I answer, trying to choose my words carefully.

"Yes, it is quite big. I don't really know that many people here. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? You have quite the accent."

I smile innocently enough. I'm genuinely interested in her. I don't have many friends. Maybe she could become one?
