Going home, back to her parents' estate nestled in the scenic and gently rolling hills just outside of Paris was never an option once she'd boarded that plane without so much as a fleeting backwards glance to everything that she would be leaving behind. She could remember sitting there with the Englishman sitting there beside her as sage eyes watched the buildings and roads get ever smaller as their freedom, her freedom, carried her farther and further away from that place which had become a cage for her when it should have been a home. There was nothing that she regretted, no trace of remorse when she big her parents farewell for the last time - not that they truly believed she wouldn't come home.
