I don't think I'll make it out alive see the devil living in those eyes Perfect to lay low, hm? Well, Spencer did prefer to maintain a low profile when he could so she wasn't wrong there. However, his 'low profile' may not be able to hide her ability to attract nuisances since she had already set off a chain of events over in the background there. Perhaps she would get lucky- perhaps they would be too busy focused on satisfying their egos to remember her. More importantly, to remember to come bother Spence for having the misfortune of being the chosen company she decided to keep. For now, his focus was on the new cocksure woman he had seemed to attract out of nowhere. He was starting to feel like someone somewhere had cursed him with the worst possible curse since this particular type of woman always seemed to find him. Why cursed you say? Because they were all trouble. ALL of them. As her expression shifted into that feline curiosity, Spencer could see the were in her clearly. They always seem to adopt something from their animal half. Or maybe their personalities had some influence over what type of animal they changed into. Really he had no clue how any of that worked other than the were-animals were fucking dangerous and usually he preferred them at a distance. Perhaps spending so much time around his resident cranky lady had a positive influence since he wasn't immediately trying to send her off to wherever the fuck he wasn't. "Stranger things have happened," Spencer shrugged, brushing the rather mocking comment of being his 'first'. If she was hoping to ruffle his feathers (so to speak), she was going to have to try a bit harder. After all, she wasn't his first irritation. Still, the faint amusement lingered in his voice, his expression. Whether he was actually amused by the comment or her attempt to ruffle him, that was a bit more difficult to discern. Spencer scoffed slightly as she claimed it wasn't her fault, wondering how much weight he should put behind that statement. To be fair, in the like two minutes he's interacted with her, she hardly seems the type to try to play two men against one another for a sense of entertainment. Especially then to walk away after the fight starts because she's bored or sudden loss of interest or whatever the case. Still, for actually bothering Spencer? No, not at all. He could hardly care what two testosterone-addled idiots decided to do - on the caveat it didn't come back to bother him. As for this right now? Not bothering him. ... Hope? She was going call him Hallmark and then come back with something like 'Hope'? Fuck's sake, here Spencer was being accused of using 'pretty like anecdotes' and she was going to counter him with something like that? His expression fell flat, the man almost but not quite able to stop the scoff at her comment. Luckily she continued before he could speak, something he most certainly was about to do. The warlock considered her recovery for a moment before seeming to decide it was (almost) acceptable enough with a small shrug and rose his glass half way to meet her toast. "Or at least to the point your trouble doesn't disrupt my drink." Spencer tacked on to her lame little toast before taking a quick sip of his drink. As he went to lower the glass, the crash behind her attracted Spencer's - among nearly everyone else's - attention back toward the brawling vampires. "Though that seems it may be a bigger challenge than we'd assume." He commented idly, tapping his finger against the rim of the glass. Spencer lifted his glass in brief acknowledgement to her rather lame toast, tipping back only a small portion before - eyes flicking back toward the brawling vampires - he took another larger sip. He was of a partial mind to send her off on her own to avoid potential trouble coming this way but not enough so that he actually said anything. Besides, it seemed her 'friends' there were far too busy doing damage to one another to come bother them, at least for now. Perhaps they would be lucky and the bouncer would toss them when he finally decided to arrive. Wouldn't that be pleasant? Mind you, he somehow doubted they would be so lucky as it seemed if that was going to happen, shouldn't it have occurred already? "Do you often attract so much attention from their like?" Spencer couldn't help but be curious as he had never seen someone able to initiate a brawl so quickly, at least not one that they weren't actively involved with. The only person he could think to rival this magical feat was Askaree but she would most likely be in the midst of it, fangs and fists and fury. Also, he would give it a 50-50 chance that should such a brawl occur with her and him in the same general vicinity (particularly after certain recent events that seemed to have slightly soured her taste of him) that she would be beating the shit out of him. Yes, beating the absolute shit out of him. Spencer wasn't foolish enough to even remotely entertain the idea that he had the faintest chance against her should she decide to actually unleash her strength against him. He was no fighter, no brawler, no streetwise ruffian. He was the person that stood behind those that could handle such close encounters. If he had to get involved with such savage business, he preferred his involvement to be at a long range. Truthfully, though, he preferred to handle it with subterfuge. single | warlock | notes: |
