The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Anna-Marie Belrose
Despite the sweetness to the woman's features and the lyrics she spoke, the child held doubt to whether she would accept the offer to play a game. So far Anna's experience with others vampires in this city had been limited to Sebastian who continued to be a rather fruitless endeavor. There was a modicum of surprise that flited across the child's delicate features when Crishlyn introduced herself and accepted the offer. Anna willingly grasped Crishlyn hand and followed her into the grand hotel. She hadn't been inside an establishment like this in quite some time so the bright lights and large open space caused her to blink rapidly in adjustment. Every sense within the child was alive from the smell of the humans milling about to the sound of every click of shoe across the marble floor. Over stimulation could be quite as dangerous as boredom. Anna's icy blue gaze darted to each person they came across in the lobby before settling on the clerk as they passed.
Oh how she had wished to play with that one. Anna's fingers itched to grab onto her essence and string her along. It was Crishlyn's insistent pull to keep on the move that kept Anna from acting on her urges. A first for the child honestly. Once within the elevator Anna was allowed the reprieve from the stimulation of the lobby. She offered a glance up at Crishlyn, "Do you live here?" Her dear Sebastian seemed to live in a hotel so it wasn't too far-fetched of a question. When the doors slid open they were greeted by the same identical long hallway of every other hotel. Again Anna let Crishlyn lead her down the length of the hallway, though her attention strayed to the many doors they were passing. Her free hand reached out, idly grazing the wall and closed doors that they passed searching the contents within as Crishlyn was doing but for very different things. She could feel the essence of the people inside, practically feeling their hearts beat and the blood rushing through their veins.
Anna was just about to ask Crishlyn where it was they were going before the woman stopped them short and knocked on a particular door. The child kept half-hidden behind Crishlyn as if to use her as a shield, even though she was quite capable of protecting herself, and watched with curiosity when a woman opened the door. Questioning gazes were exchanged, first to the stranger then to Crishlyn, awaiting her new playmate to make a move. And move she did, grabbing the human by the neck and forcing the woman away from the hallway and further into the bedroom. Anna remained where she stood on the threshold, watching with curiosity until movement caught her eye and tore her attention away from the struggling adult to the little girl clasping a doll firmly to her chest. Crishlyn's declaration seemed to ring in Anna's ears.
There was uncertainty in Anna now on whether Crishlyn honestly meant to give her this gift or if it was a trap. It warred inside the little vampire quite obviously, "...Mine?" She questioned Crishlyn softly, taking the barest of steps forward towards the human child. The more Anna observed, the surer she became that this wasn't a trap and she had indeed found a true new playmate. Oh how Crishlyn's words could mean such different things. Was the doll hers or was the girl hers? Anna's upper lip peeled back, baring her small twin peak fangs in a wicked smirk at the little girl. "Do you know how to play?...I like to play dolls." The small sob that escaped the child fell on deaf ears. Any amount of pleading from the child or mother would mean little to the vampire.
The little girl made the wrong decision and moved quickly in an attempt to run. Where she thought she was going to run to Anna hardly knew or cared. It trigged the chase reflex in Anna and she quickly followed the girl, shoving her into the side of one of the beds and watching her bounce back to land sprawled on the ground. The little girl scrambled onto her hands and knees and tried to escape once more. Anna tilted her head in mild amusement and irritation, glancing back at Crishlyn as if seeking permission before turning her attention back on the prize. One delicate hand lifted, her fingers curling then with a snap of her wrist the child halfway across the room slammed down onto her stomach with a startled cry. Anna's hand relaxed and once more the child tried to get away. A few more feet and Anna repeated the gesture, this time the little girl was flung like a ragdoll backwards towards the trio. The smirk still on Anna's features told the story of how she was simply playing with the child, letting the little girl think she actually had a chance of getting away each time before dashing her hopes. It was a relatively mild demonstration before Crishlyn of Anna's power and just how cruel she could be.
"I like her." Anna giggled as she kept her hand clenched around the little girl's essence, effectively keeping her pinned to the ground on her back, helpless and crying and very aware that she couldn't move a single muscle. The vampire child stepped over to the fallen and crying child in order to pluck up the abandoned doll and hold it securely in one arm. "Can I keep her?" Another first for Anna, asking permission instead of disposing or keeping something, her attention returning to Crishlyn with features alight in playful delight. "She knows how to play dolls and I'm not hungry."
