East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Head high, shoulders back, walk with purpose.

It was the mantra that Samantha kept repeating over and over again to herself as she walked towards Red on the Water. Even outside the building, the nervousness she felt was threatening to overwhelm her entirely. To some extent, she assumed that Nadya was correct. It was important, she supposed, if she wanted to have any merit in their community as queen, to know those who were in charge. Alliances were everything, but apparently her alliance with the Nightshade pack through her relationship merely wasn't enough. No, she had to make friends with the could-be mayor by attending this gala. The young woman couldn't help but simply... well... cower against the side of the man whose arm she clung to. She wished, sincerely, that she was able to drop her nervousness in an instant the way that Dorian seemed to, but no, she was entirely a shaken up mess. It was his words - words that echoed the mantra she'd given herself - that seemed to soothe the girl. The compliment of her beauty enough to lure a smile out of her. "Dori, thank you," Her whispered measure of gratitude only loud enough for her companion to hear. "For everything."

The faerie queen watched silently as the waiters walked around them, offering them the bubbly liquid that Nadya graciously accepted. The girl herself waved off the waiter for both herself and Dorian. Though her nerves would have loved to drown in the intoxicating liquid, the situation called for herself - for both of them - to be in complete control. Her attention flittered over to the man that Nadya pointed out, her hand raising up to chew on her nails. "Nadya, I can't just... talk to him... He's... important. And I'm just..." She trailed off, unable to come up with a valid answer. She may be the new faerie queen, sure, but she was still certain that was of absolutely no importance to the vampire mayoral candidate. "I think you should go over there and introduce yourself instead. Not me."

Like the brunette beside her, she was entirely preoccupied in which she didn't notice the man slip up beside them. The platinum blonde man was certainly one that she was familiar with - after all, he had been nothing but kind to her. But there was something certainly unnerving about the way that he looked at Nadya. And even more so, the way that Nadya reacted to him. Those emotions that tumbled around the girl certainly struck at the girl. At Dorian's questioning, though, Samantha merely shook her head, her voice a whisper meant only for her companion. "His name is Frost. He's... I don't know what he is to her. Stay here." She commanded to the man, stepping forward to press against Nadya's side in a show of support for the woman. Everything about the conversation at the burlesque seemed to slide into place, with Frost at the center of it. So loving Frost meant that Nadya would have to leave the pack, leaving Tet, betraying them all? Frost? The kind-hearted soul that had done nothing but try to protect Samantha?

The girl gave Nadya a small smile, her own fingers moving to squeeze Nadya's arm in a bit of reassurance. "Frost, it's nice to see you again," She commented lightly, though it seemed as though the appearance of the girl beside the pair caused the girl to frown. The near hostile way that the brunette regarded Nadya caused Samantha to tense up, ready to jump to protect her if the moment arose. She was hardly immune to the way that Nadya's emotions seemed to flare up, and the desire to protect Nadya was nearly overwhelming.

"Business, yes," The young woman turned at Nadya's nudging, her fingers brushing upon Dorian's arm as she took it once more. There was something certainly unnerving about the new girl that was with Frost, and her desire to protect the pair of her companions had her paying special care to the emotions of those around them. It was only when the inkling of betrayal from the brunette girl at Frost's side seemed to flair up did Samantha turn, watching as Nadya was pulled away from her side and to the dance floor. The faerie queen frowned, turning to the man that was supposed to be at her side. "Dance with me. Now. I don't want Nadya out of my sight, Dori." As it turned out, the man seemed to be completely invisible as well, having been pulled off by that same brunette. Were all of her companions to be taken away from her tonight?
