East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Frankly, Alexander found himself entirely unsure why he even bothered with the young woman's kind. They had all been but a disappointment to him of late - though he was hardly ignorant enough to fault her for that. She was, after all, but an individual within the collective. Who was to say she did not stand on the periphery, that she would not be different? The question was, was it worth the effort he was considering investing within her to find the answer to that question. His lips pressed together ever so slightly as he listened to the young woman's words, his gaze momentarily flickering towards the bar and the door to the very kitchen that he intended to invite her into to test her dishwashing capabilities. Not that he particularly doubted she was capable of handling the device. After all, it was a damn dishwasher. If she couldn't manage that then there was surely no hope for her any further. It was an intriguing 'test' of sorts, albeit a decidedly pathetic one and surely not the first nor the last thing he would throw her way in an effort to see her abilities to, well, to sink or swim, as the saying went.

His head shook ever so slightly after a moment, "I fear the council would stop me from such a conquest...however, my shoppe could use some assistance, my last were-barista up and left me, and my were-pastry chef." There was a soft sigh upon his lips at his continued disappointment in the member's of Frost's pack, not that he had ever known that either foxes had belonged to the steed. He was vaguely aware of the young girl's discomfort in referring to herself as her species, and likely to his previous employees. However, it was difficult to let those syllables that made up Alexis' name leave his lips - after all, she was the first budding relationship the nearly ancient King had in any such time. Alexander stood, placing his tea cup upon his now empty plate before handing it towards the young blonde he now knew as Calliel, pausing to eye her with a moment's consideration. It was perhaps no secret that the equestrian kind were by far his specialty. Hell - some horse techniques they now taught were entirely his inventions. He'd already had one unruly creature on his hands though - did he really want another? She didn't seem...particularly rebellious. Witty maybe, intelligent, all traits he was willing to indulge within.

"It, however, you are determined to see this world burn, I could teach you how to become a war-horse. Not many horses have the steadiness or loyalty to succeed on the front lines of battle." A small shrug cross his shoulders, entirely leaving the option up to her as he turned to lead her to the kitchen, muttering under his breath in the process, "Lord knows Frost fails miserably." Hell, bringing Calliel in might be enough to coax the draft horse to shape his act together rather than this constant rearing nonsense Alexander put up with nearly on the daily basis. Siberia had been an utter nightmare between the way he'd assaulted Alexander's hunter contact to his general uselessness in keeping Alexander warm. It was certainly a promising thought - this Calliel, if nothing else than what she might prompt of Frost himself. But was this a game that Alexander really wanted to play? Hell yes it was. Even if Calliel too joined the ranks of were-women who had abandoned him within months, at the very least he might get something out of Frost and that was worth something.
