East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Sebastian Ellingtonget close enough to have fun
but not enough to get attached

There were so many aspects of modern life that so drastically differed from the expectations of his own era that sometimes he forgot what Dorian too expected of how he was anticipated to behave. Reaching for the man's hand had felt decidedly natural for the vampire, especially considering the plethora of things Sebastian himself had done within the public's eye. Something as innocent as this surely had not crossed his thoughts to be off limits. Instead, the vampire's attention was entirely steadfast upon the fried food he so sought out, only glancing behind him momentarily at the Fae King any moment they passed through a particularly crowded section of the markets. There was a certain feeling within him that Dorian had so coaxed into a feverish fire that night the two men had spent within Dorian's bedroom. That possessiveness had been kept at bay till Dorian had unleashed it and now it roared it's head any moment the vampire was within the presence of the royal figure. He was aware, in some regard, of the fluttering of the man's heart if only because Sebastian was always fully aware of Dorian. He glanced once more over his shoulder, ensuring the fairy King was entirely okay before a few moments later, the vampire found exactly what he was so diligently searching for.

Fish and chips had existed for the entirety of Sebastian's life though he himself had rarely indulged in it till after his death. It had been a food of the peasants for most of his life and yet, in this Sebastian was willing to admit they were entirely onto something. He remembered the year the food exploded in popularity and by now, it was a decidedly English thing. They were known for this and it pleased him to find a place outside of his isles that strove so well to preserve his country's culture. Carefully he handed the wrapped meal towards his companion, his pleased simper turning into a rather bemused chuckle at Dorian's inquiry. It was, he supposed, a rather peculiar method. "There was a point in time where my country experienced an economic downturn. It was cheaper then to wrap it in newspaper then it was to provide plates and silverware. It also absorbs the liquid they use to cook it in. It became a tradition after that." He shrugged ever so slightly, as he made his way towards the bench his companion had found and gestured them towards.

Sebastian's fingers easily found the edge of the brown paper, unwrapping the parcel with decided ease to glance over the fried fish and potatoes he was given with a sense of satisfaction. The crust looked crunchy and the potatoes seemed to be the exactly correct width. They had done particularly well. A nearly sheepish simper crossed his features at Dorian's voice once again, his head bobbing ever so slightly, "It is, living on an island meant we always had plenty of fish." He confirmed though in truth he was weary as to how the fairy King might receive this peculiar meal. After all, he was rather certain Dorian had never had anything quite to the likes of this. Much less if the fairy knew what fried food was in the first place. Regardless, Sebastian's fingers plucked a fry from his own pile, sticking it in his mouth in a entirely pleased fashion. In truth, Dorian's dislike of it would hardly rob him of this momentary reminder of his home country. He glanced over towards the fairy as he watched inquisitively as Dorian picked up his own chip only to slowly bring it to his mouth.

The vampire could hardly help that grin that flittered across his lips at the fairy's explanation, the man entirely pleased that his lover too should find some measure of enjoyment in it. "We own half of Ireland, we had quite a bit of potatoes too." He commented in a nonchalant fashion, his own fingers picking through the fish itself as he nibbled on it's crispy skin and yet, despite his eating, the vampire's gaze remained entirely aware of the particularly un-royal actions of his companion. Although he might not have admitted it to Dorian, Sebastian was altogether pleased for that momentary lapse in etiquette. He wanted the fairy comfortable enough within his presence to forgo such manners, he wanted to provide his companion with even the slightest of sanctuary to unwind from the stresses of whatever his day to day life consisted of, even if it was no longer court. "Perhaps one day we might venture into a restaurant where they serve some of our better things." The vampire replied, after all, their beef wellington was decidedly popular and frequently appeared on high classed restaurants. Finding a place that served it would hardly be difficult.

It was the sound of his name that saw Sebastian abruptly cease his eating, his navy gaze turned towards his companion curiously and yet, the vampire was instantly aware of that nearly mischievous tone that within the fairy's voice. It was a tone he used only before the continuation of their ever present game. Yet, even despite such knowledge, the vampire hardly had a moment's notice to prepare for that sudden rise of Dorian's hand, his fingers brushing against the vampire's lip and softly his mouth parted, all too aware of the blood that pumped through Dorian's veins. He could quite literally smell it and oh how it stirred that longing within the man. It took him a moment to regather himself after Dorian's fingers left his lip, the vampire momentarily cleared his throat before he responded, "I hadn't noticed." He was entirely truthful in that moment, unable to think of any quick witted comeback to this effect the fairy had upon him, at least, not immediately. Instead, his eyebrow rose ever so slightly as the fairy announced his conclusion. "Do we now?" Sebastian inquired, a small simper upon his features.

"Dorian, would you like to know something I know?" He inquired suddenly, fully intending to continue that game the two men so diligently and effectively played. The vampire hardly waited for a reply before he leaned forward, his lips brushing against the man's jawline just next to his ear. His voice was quiet, his breath warm against the fairy's skin and in a whisper he continued, "Sometimes, your heart beats faster when I touch you, did you know that?" Oh yes, Sebastian was entirely able of returning the man's words back to him just as he too was able to take this little game further than they had before. His lips gingerly pressed against Dorian's jawline before he pulled away, returning to his fish and chips as if he had done nothing at all.
